Rules + Sign-up instructions here!

MultiPlay HardCore TF2 League

Please make sure you read and understand the rules.

We also recommend team leaders to idle in the league IRC channel #mpuktf2l on Quakenet, clan members are also welcome.

Team / Player Eligibility: -

Player registration: -

All players must register their team on to the Tournament web page, the team must have a complete line up of at least 6 players. The tournament website can be found at http://tournaments.multiplay.co.uk

Signup url: http://tournaments.multiplay.co.uk/signups/

A team must register on the MultiplayTF2 forum and have a team profile that includes the name of the clan, its leader and deputies, a valid Steam I.D. for each player and the clan’s irc channel information. A valid Email address for the clan leader / deputies is also required should there be a need to contact your clan directly.

The person originally registering that team controls the team account. That user may elect to promote a clan member to leader status but they are still ultimately responsible for their team’s actions.

Multiplay admin reserve the right to deny registration or remove any team from the league at any time with or without giving a reason.

A player can only be registered for one team at any one time. It makes no difference if the teams compete in different divisions, a player cannot be registered for multiple clans.

If a player wishes to change his team during the season, he has to be removed from the old teams’ roster and added to the new one and wait for 48 hours before he is allowed to play. Non-confirmed team changes the player will be considered as a ringer in his “new” team, which means he is not allowed to play. Team Leaders can add/delete players from their roster on the league forum a player may only change team once during a running season.

A player profile using an alias, avatar or logo that is considered offensive by the league will be asked to amend it. Should the name then be replaced by another offensive (or the same) alias then that player is likely to be banned immediately without further consultation.

Player’s Responsibilities: -

Players are responsible for their own unique id. If your Steam id account is subject to an upheld accusation of cheating we do not care who was using that account at that time, it will be the person holding that registered account itself that will be banned. It is up to the holder of the account to ensure its security. No debate will be entered into on this subject. If you make public or allow details of your account to be shared by a third party then you leave yourself open to this possibility and it is your duty to either keep the account personal to yourself or deal with the repercussions of failing to do so.

Player waiting time: -

After registration to a team the player in question will not be eligible to take part in any official match’s for that team for a period of forty eight hours. Their alias and Steam id will be required as a post on the forum 48 hours prior to any official league match.
Multiplay admin reserve the right to deny registration or remove any player from the league at any time with or without giving a reason.

The league format: -

A standard league will consist of several divisions. Teams will play the other teams once per season with one match each week played over 2 maps of 30 minutes each between 19.00 GMT+1 and 22.00 GMT+1 on maps decided by the league map rotation for that week . We reserve the right to change the map for that week at any point if good reasons should present itself.
Prior to the start of the league the divisions and divisional set up will be publicised on the league forum. At this point clans will be able to see who they are playing what day, what time, what server and what maps will be played.

Map Pool :-

cp_well, cp_granary, ctf_2fort, ctf_turbine, cp_badlands cp_warpath

Scoring: -

3 points per map will be awarded for a win
1 point per map will be awarded for a draw
3 points per map will be awarded for a default win
3 points per map will be awarded against any clan whose members are found to be cheating during a match.

All match results should be posted on the league form under the correct week with the score of each clan for each map e.g. week 1
Map Granary Map Well
team A 3 team B 2 team A 2 team B 3

All scores must be recorded on the tournaments website.

If two teams are tied in points for first, second or third position at the end of the season there will play a Playoff-Match for final ranking. This will consist of 2 maps, 1 chosen by each clan leader and submitted to the league forum. A server will then be booked at an agreed time and date to play the match.

Match rules: -

All league match’s will be played on servers provided by the league. All servers will have updated league configs prior to any league games and temporary admin will be given to the clan leaders and their nominated deputies whilst the servers are in league mode to enable map change and any basic commands required.

All servers will have source TV on permanent record whilst in league mode. These recordings will be used if there are any allegations of cheating by another clan and will be used to determine player / team bans if required. Personal demos must be recorded incase of source TV failure

All matches will be played 6v6 with crits off

Class restriction: - • 2 Soldiers • 2 Sniper • 2 Scouts • 2 Pyros • 1 Medic • 2 Heavy • 2 Spy • 1 Demo men • 2 Engineer

If at any time during the match a team uses more than the maximum number of any class, the round will be overturned. Evidence will be available from Source TV recordings to prove a team was using more than the maximum number of classes.
Each team should field six players from their roster registered on the forum. The players must all have their Steam id entered on the roster and be eligible to play. If a player is not eligible to play due to having not entered their Steam id more than 48 hours in advance of the tie then that player may not take part in the match. A player who does not feature on the team’s roster at all is also not allowed to play.

Match schedule :-

All matches should begin at the scheduled time but if either team is delayed then the clan leader or their deputy should make contact with the other team to inform them of any delay.
A maximum 15-minute delay should be afforded to your opponent. If after 15 minutes your opponent has not arrived or filled up a team you will be entitled to claim a default win. Teams with more than three default losses will be expelled from the league for the remainder of the season. To claim a default win, your team will have had to be on the match server at the scheduled time and you will be required to provide a screenshot of at least 5 available players of your team with their steam ids. Teams can postpone a scheduled game with their opponent’s agreement by giving them at least 24 hours before the league game is supposed to start. The game must be re-scheduled and submitted on the match forum and be completed within 1 week of the original match date.

Teams :-

A team may play with less than 6 players but no less than 5. Should the opposing team wish to drop players themselves to even up the teams then they may do so - but they do not have to.
A check on steam ID’s must be performed prior to the match to confirm players eligibility to alleviate complaints or conflictions after the match has taken place, unless a player joins the server mid match in which case a screenshot of their steam id should be taken.

Mercenaries:-

At no time must a team field a player who is not shown on their roster. Should it be proven that a player other than the registered account holder has participated in a match then that players account may be suspended or banned, further to this the team in question will have forfeit the match and a default win will be awarded to the opposition.

Player substitution:-

A team may substitute as many players as they wish during the course of a game though at no point must they have more than six players connected to the server. A player joining the match must move from spectator to the relevant team immediately on connection to the server. Players remaining in spectator mode for any length of time will result in rounds being declared forfeit source TV recordings will verify if this took place.

Part 2

Illegal Players:-

Players that are subject to suspension or ban from the league who attempt to take part under another identity or account will be removed from the league permanently. In addition to this a team who allow such a player to take part in competitive play may be deemed as acting with full knowledge of using an illegal player and may in some cases also be removed - with suspensions and or bans being applied to the accounts of the remaining members of the team. A default loss will be awarded against the team involved with points being awarded to the opposition. Any accusations of cheating should be brought to the attention of a league admin immediately any previous match results that a confirmed cheat has played in will stand, as the matter should have been raised with an admin by previous teams.

Server crash:-

Should a match server crash during a match then these guidelines should be followed. If less than 5minutes have been played in a half then the half will be restarted from the beginning. For matches where the server crashes after 5minutes have been played the match will be restarted at the score the match was at prior to the server crash and the remaining time that was left at the end of the match will be played.

A player is responsible for his own connection at all times. Should the player suffer from connection problems including high pings, intermittent connection loss or similar problems then a maximum of 2 pause’s of no more than five minutes should be made to allow a reboot and reconnect to the server but only at the end of each round.

Players that are found guilty of cheating or any form of racial abuse whilst playing in the league will be instantly banned, the ban will also be valid on any Multiplay server.
