Does anyone agree with me that HDR was implemented much better in EP1 than lost coast and definatly CS:S

The HDR effect in de_dust is revolting.

Enjoying EP1 so far!

Yeah, HDR worked very well there. Seemed to kill my FPS in places though which it didn't in Lost Coast. Guess it was being used more or something

Like I said in a previous topic about Episode1, the cost and play-time is compareable to a film. Games are generally a little more involving and entertaining than a film too. I'm not in a rush to buy it, but seems not bad value imo.

But still the ever-rising price of games is getting to be an annoyance. I remember the time when new (full length) games came out at £20 :\

(Time was based on the Valve-Playtester time vs actual play time of HL2. the 40hours of HL2 worked out to about 20-25 hours when you werent being paid to play)

I was expecting it to be unlocked last night, but I got home, checked steam and it still said "Pre-loaded; un-released" How did you guys manage to play it?

That's odd. I fired steam up yesterday about 5-6pm, and it started to decrypt the files. It's not something really random like your PC's clock being set wrong .. ?

Ahh, my Steam was still running. I wonder if you need to close and restart it. How silly do I feel now? :\

I just had the ending of EP1 spoiled for me by going to the somethingawful forums, they've renamed the FYAD forum

It's an episodic format

ie lots of small episodes

Same with SiN: Episodes and Sam and Max later this year

It's the new thing - make games into TV shows that you play.

i'm liking what i've played so far. i think i've paid more for less in the past. i think of it as an expansion pack, similar to Op4 or blueshift, and IMO it's better than both

As opposed to TV shows turning into games that you play

lucifa, when was the last time you could trust the title of FYAD?
seriously now.
When HL2 came out it was called "Alyx dies"

But yea, I enjoyed it, was very polished, and some of the lines were fantastic. "Back so soon?" hehe

worth the £11
