Tuto, how to downgrade 1.4 to 1.3.

1. Update your client to 1.4

2. Download a 1.3 client with \bin files, or get one in your second computer.
(I can host one but not sure if its legal to do that here)

3. Go here ; C:\Users\Your-Session-User\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin

4. Delete the new minecraft.jar (updated to 1.4)

5. Rename your old minecraft-1.3.01.jar file to minecraft.jar

6. Keep the 1.4 Version file

I just did that and work fine for me

Later, when you want and are ready to update to 1.4, just delete the version file or \bin folder and reboot.

I see a lot of people are still not using the new launcher file from the site. If you don't you won't get a message which asks you if you want to skip updating, which means you can't backup your older version for in case the servers aren't updated yet.

The post was asking for an official download requestion, I've read those rules already, I know you're not supposed to download stuff from other people. This is why I included the word official.

Seriously, this is really starting to frustrate me. To obey the minecraft rules I can't upload a backup copy of 1.3, but when I ask Mojang for a download link off their website, my post gets locked because I'm supposedly breaking rules.

I've added a new post specifically asking in detail what I'm looking for, and posting in detail that I'm not looking for a download link by another player.

I'm looking for a download or, or some form of client reverting from Mojang themselves.

This post cannot be interpretted in any way as violating any rule, I'm just hoping that it reaches someone who can do something about it.

But really, being realistic no one from Mojang probably will ever read that post. I'm actually betting some other moderator will end up locking this new post again.

If this is the case, then there is no 'legal' way of getting my players that have downloaded 1.4 without backing up their clients back on to my 1.3 server.

Oh well, we'll see what happens tomorrow.
