Questions for LAN Girls!

Hey my fellow girl gamers

Just wondering about the J****y S*****s and what facilities they have in them.

I wouldn't dream of ever plugging my hair dryer/straighteners into the main power structure. So are there plugs available in the shower rooms where I can plug these in instead?

(guys are welcome to answer too but I might wonder why you were in the womens showers/toilets )

I would check the female showers as I might be wayyyyyyyyy wrong but I think i saw a plug in there but I was half asleep at the time....maybe another female lanner will speak up!!

Outside the shower areas there are big industrial tumble driers (you go past them on the way to the showers) and I am pretty sure there is a plug socket in there.

Also in the jockey showers theres a room to the right, i believe its called the weighing room and seemed to be sockets in there.
I was also wondering about hairdryers, hoping thats a foil proof plan as drying my hair where men are walking to the showers seems a bit odd

I think if these plug sockets are in general areas the idea would be to put clothes on before going out to dry hair!

In the women's Jockey Showers, there is no plug. As it has been mentioned previously, there is a room to the right sometimes open which has plugs in it. I think there are two if I recall.

I usually leave my hair towel in for a bit and then go to my desk for about 10 minutes, let it down and it dries within minutes. Maybe I'm just lucky! It's only worked since I've used some heat defense stuff in my hair

Yeah I saw another post about them for i39 but it didn't really make much sense to me so thought I'd try and clarify it a bit more for myself.

You're one of the lucky people that can leave their hair in a towel to dry and it looks okay! *shakes fist :P

I'm too picky about having my hair look okay so I'd prefer to find a plug if available, towel drying is a last resort for me

Well the weighing room is generally used as a changing room by the guys as in the guys showers there is no where to get changed. That's if we are thinking of the same room.

I used to care about how my hair looked... but if I'm at a LAN, it doesn't really matter. I figured that out after i31! It actually looked worse if I dried it with a hairdryer and used straighteners! Each to their own though

Chev; I've never come across any men in that room - there is a door that interlinks with the men's changing room but it was always locked from what I saw? This makes it sound like I've tried to open the door... oh dear

Certainly at ilite the weighing room was being used as a changing room for the men. At ilast, not so much...changing was done inside the shower 'area'. You should be comfortable with being naked among many many men...

Also, Chev isn't familiar with where people change as he first used a shower at ilite... <3

Screw you Slanty, I was showering before you were even born. I have used the weighing room to get changed at every LAN I have been too and have never had any problems. Why would you get changed in what is essentially a wet toilet block when there is a perfectly good changing room next door??

I think I've been misinterpreted
In the actual woman's bit theres a room leading off then obviously along the corridor outside the door to the women's bit is the washing room stuff, then men's showers and some other huge room. Just having somebody watch me blowdry my hair seems a bit odd! that was all

I think there must be 2 weighing rooms and that us guys have just not seen the female weighing room (or should not have) and visa versa.

Anyway, there's still the tumble dryer room that may have power you can use. Sorry if I offended you Blackhart, what I meant was, if you really want to dry your hair with a hair dryer then you'll probably have to use whatever plug socket you can find or if you really want to dry your hair in privacy, go to a hotel.

During the summer LAN its enough to walk from showers to your seat and be dry.

On the other hand by the time you get to your seat you need a shower again.

So seeing as we are on the topic of showers here's a small question; How clean are the showers generally at the Newbury venue?

I tried to use a set of showers at the other venue (i36) and I could see myself in the reflection of dirt that was on the floor. I felt more dirty having the shower than I did before going in :S

Be wary, men often use the female jockey showers when the heating goes out, or the male ones are full... how do i know, i snuck a quick shower in the female jockeys at i39 when the outside showers were hotter than molten lava and the male jockeys were colder than showing in the artic circle! and i wasn't the only one :P if you are going to use those, check before you enter xD

There will more than likely be a larger number of girls at the summer LAN and it would be nice not to encounter a random male in there whilst showering.

I think this is a warning to all females to take some sort of bikini/swimwear to shower in just in case!

The showers at Newbury have always been better than Stoneleigh.
