Thumbs up Quiet PC - Competitions and prizes info

Just thought I would let you know exactly what competitions and what prizes are up for grabs at our stand. We have a total prize fund worth around £3000!!

The Swag
Here are some of the actual products you could win. From Scythe; Yasya CPU Coolers, Chouriki 2 PSUs, Musashi VGA Coolers, Kama Cabinets, Kama Blue case fans. From Noctua; NH-D14, NH-U12-SE2, NH-U9B-SE2 CPU Coolers and NF-P14 and NF-S12B-FLX case fans. From Arctic; Seven sets of their new Headphones and two gaming mice. From Gelid; Tranquillo and Silent Spirit CPU Coolers and case fans.

And just because we are super nice, everyone who enters one of our competitions will get a Nexus inflatable chair, until stocks last, but I do have lots of them.

The Comps

Alien Swarm - PC in 3D - details here
This comp will be run over the whole weekend. Turn up with four players and set your fastest time. Prizes are available for 1st (£800), 2nd (£400) and 5th (£200) place. More details can be found here.

Blur - Xbox
There will be three competitions for Blur on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They will start at 3pm sharp. There are 16 slots available for each day. It will be four player split-screen mayhem. Top two go through until we are left with just four players who will fight it out for the prizes. Just sign up at our stand. Prizes are available for 1st (£250), 2nd (£150) and 3rd (£75) for each day.

Race On or Dirt2 - PC in 3D
Still not 100% finalised which game to use for this but this comp will run for the whole weekend. Very simple rules, set the fastest time. You MUST use a steering wheel; it makes the experience much more realistic. Prizes are available for 1st (£100), 2nd (£75) and 5th (£50) place. I am also hoping to have four steering wheels so we can do some 4-player racing just for fun.

The monetary figures are approximately how much the bag of swag is worth!

Skippy’s (big) little helpers
Some of you may know them some of you probably do not give a flying (insert word), but I will have Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dummer helping me our over the weekend. There are also known as _Lumpy_ and Manic! I'll let you decide who’s who. You all have my permission to give them as much crap as possible over the weekend

The Alien Swarm one is a great idea but...

5th place?

What happens to 3rd and 4th?

Well that's the trick isn't it.... You're no where near 1st so do you go for 2nd or slow it down and go for 5th? It's a dilemma!

I decided to give 5th place a prize because I have seen in the past 2 or 3 teams do so well it gives no one else a chance to win anything. Therefore 5th place seems a perfect choice for a prize! Don't forget 3rd and 4th places will get an inflatable chair

Ah but in this game surely the Team that can just stay alive the longest would win that so it would have to be on the earliest death? I dunno...

Properly looking forward to a bit of blurrage.
Splitscreen can be a nightmare as the lack of a rear view mirror makes it that little bit more manic.
