I take it someone has reported this guy? If the Multiplay auctions are fake, then its not a long shot to assume the others are as well.

well yeah if the tickets are payed for by him it's under his account and as tickets are non-transferable ... it's a pretty useless auction if it's not done direct through multiplay lol

dont get me wrong... giving ticket to "partners" fair enough i can fully understand that...

...if they were for them to use , or as prizes ....but for them just to sell to anyone on an auction site

i kinda feel is a bit off

is there any difference between the "partner company" selling them and anyone else buying some and then "touting" theirs off

im sure the people who couldnt get a ticket before i37 sold out will be a touch "miffed"

More to the point would it have not been better to announce they where legit ON THIS SITE before the other auctions ended? I am sure a lot of people didnt bid because of the previous posts from MPUK reps which look to now have been deleted.

Well played to those who got the for a few pence...

It was apparently a special case to raise money for charity. Tickets are non transferable still and we will be allocating the tickets to the successfull bidders on a non transferable basis.

I agree, we were all completely unaware this had been setup until yesterday, it's just one of those things I guess.

As I was lucky enough to win 2 of these ebay tickets for 1p each can I still cancel the ticket I bought in May on early bird and get a refund? And if yes how long have I got to do this? Also, could I keep the booking number / seating arrangement I already have?

Danz, just get the two seats you won on either side of your current seat and a tshirt printed with "because I can" on the back of it.

if this was an officially sanctioned thing by MPUK to raise money for charity, would it not have been a good thing for an official announcement about it? I;m sure if there was, the price would have been much higher than what was actually paid for them!

We're finding out quite where this went wrong. We agreed to give some tickets to a partner for use in a charity thing they were running some time ago now, but did not expect to see them end up on ebay, hence the surprise and reaction from some of our frontline staff to this.

As soon as we have some more information we will let you know. For now I would not cancel or make any changes to your bookings based on these ebay auctions. If those people who believe they have won tickets could get in touch through our support site so we have their details and communicate directly with them, it would be very helpful. seems a pretty poor way of doing it from the charity side of things as they've made nothing. ebay is really not the way to go with it lol who in the gaming community would ever check ebay for i-series tickets?? and tbh as a charity, getting them for a penny must seme like a total piss take. set a reserve people A RESERVE!!
