I dunno if im the only person that wants this, but gonna suggest it anyway. Poke me if you want me to shutup and ill go back to my hole.
Why not have some kind of best modded case competition or something similar? I always see these uber cool case mods online, feel all inspired for about 2 minuets, then realise so few people are ever going to see the case when finished for it to be worth the effort. However some kind of modding competition would give me/others a good excuse to get the power tools out. There were plenty of modded cases at i26, so i cant be the only person... |

have you been to a iseries before?
we are talking ~30 double rows with PCs back to back there is not a large amount of room perdesk most pcs are kept on the floor, some people do keep em on the desk but i wouldnt suggest it, if there was some compo to be done you would have to move the PC. personally i would love to see a compo i regularly wander round at i series having a peak at modded rigs, also compo means prizes who gonna provide them?what if someone jus wanted to bring there pc down for the compo for the day, MPUK doesnt do day tickets who wants to pay £70 odd quid for 10 mins of some bloke staring at his pc :P.

Yeah, i was at i26
![]() I went round and had a look at most of the rigs there myself, just out of curiosity. Most of the rigs where easily visable. The people that wanted their rigs to be seen normaly put them in prominent positions on the desks. Im sure thats not an issue. Prizes would be up to multiplay to sort out. Im sure one of the modding type companies like akasa or something would happily sponsor it. |

Bit-Tech did a comp at i-15 that was a pretty big event.
got pics of ppls cases from their desks. Can't see why its that hard to move your case on to the desk...

bit-tech were indeed at i15, the compo for i25(?) was a somewhat comedy of errors that lead to it being cancelled. would be cool if there was a mod of the event compo

Well back at i15 i think it was, I was interview by PC Format Magazine for my case modding effors and I belive that Maddy won the comp with his 2 computers in one case effort.
Try contacting Dan Griliopoulos (dan.griliopoulos(at)futurenet.co.uk) to see if he is interested in running another compo.

. that was quite loud. that was years ago mind. i guess fans have got better now.

coldest cooled pc. Then all the people who spend thousands on their PC would win, anyone who had phase change would walk away with it. Modding isn;t about spending a lot of money on a case, it's about coming up with something unique, interesting and that is well made.

I think it should be an overall thing of nicest case, with mods, expence (or lack of), cooling, and looks etc. all taken into consideration. |
