UPS Information...

Ok people..

Anyone who bought a Compaq T2400h UPS from me @ i9 should look here.

Click here to download the english user guide for the 2000 series ups (779kb)

Click here to download the UPS power cable reference guide (831k)

Click here to download the guide to the compaq software (1.17mb)

and

Click here to get the software in question (12mb)

If you want the data cable:
  • phone 0870 555 4556
  • take option 2 (sales)
  • quote part number 295501-001
The cables are £21 + vat and aparently have free delivery..

Have fun..

(Note to BGH, this is a copy of the one in the trading post.. dont delete it as people dont seem to go in there very often)

BTW: If anyone wants one of these, there are more available..

However

The price is now £70 + VAT + Delivery

So final price will probably be about £125

I can post details if anyone is interested.

OK, a few more points..

The pinouts for the cable are as follows.. (ive bought one. )

male -> female
1 -> 3
2 -> 2
4 -> 5
6 -> 7
and 4 <-> 6 on the female side are linked

The software you require can be located from here. (you`ll have to dig them out your self as there are different links for different OSs)

http://www.compaq.com/support/files/.../us/index.html

Do a "Search by catagory" and select your OS and "Management Agents"

The items you need are..

Compaq System Management Driver
Compaq Foundation Agents for Windows
Compaq Power Management Software

And you also need the software linked in the first post.

Install them in the above listed order and it should work like a charm.

WARNIG: These files are quite big and willl take a while to download (unless you are a git and have broadband )

Ok, small problem.

Unless i`m doing somthing stupidly wrong, the 2k software doesnt seem to like installing (presumably being too inteligent for its own good and looking for a compaq BIOS or somthing)

So it looks like its NT or nothing

Ho hum.
