Altho I notice they are low-profile cards, but the backplates are normal size!

Majority of plates on pci cards are changeable...
dunno where you would get half sized ones?

If you can get a low enougth profile card a Hacksaw normally does the job nicely.

In the optiplex models at work my default they only supported 1 halfsize pci and 1 halfsize agp but we bought some riser boards which change the orientation of each card and allow full size boards, maybe you can get one of these risers for your optiplex model then opening up the market a bit more?

PCI Yes AGP is a little more restricitve. the PCI risers are designed to fit in the end PCI slot (the slightly longer one) and come right to the end of the case the AGP slot is a lot further so I dont think a full height riser would be available.

There are at least Two options for Low Profile AGP video cards listed on this page
computercareonline.com/index.php?cPath=49_54
GeForce FX 5200 Low Profile AGP 128MB with TV out
No Dual Monitor support though

computercareonline.com/product_info.php?cPath=49_54&products_id=677
GeForce 6200 256MB Low Profile AGP video card with DVI, TV and VGA out
This one supports dual monitors.

Also you have to be careful, make sure that the card does indeed come with the half height brackets as these cards do.

Hope this helps, not a lot of options for low profile video cards but this should give you some idea where to start.
