Good work sir!

I think the one being stuck to someone should be a knife, if you stick it to them without them noticing its instant death. The gun one could be hmmm not sure about a gun type sticker, must be something different we could do!

Only thing is really who is going to supply all the stickers etc?

I was thinking that if everyone chipped in like 50p entrance fee. then we take out costs (for stickers and ink etc) then winner gets the rest.

or somthing like that.

Sounds fun ... adds a nice twist to the social element ... shame I won't be at the next LAN but if it survives until November then I'm game!

edit: maybe as a twist for the gun you must attach the sticker and shout *BANG* in order for it to count, some sort of validation to give the target a chance to respond to the sticker being attached, kind of a 'quick draw' scenario i.e. can the target turn and identify the assailant before the word *BANG* is shouted?

Possible...

I basically ran all that off last night while i was half asleep.
It`s all open to change as people see fit.
I did think about having a dagger instead of the gun, but wasnt sure.

Also, from an "ease of printing" perspective it may be more straight forward to have 5 stickers, not 4, so we could have another weapon or somthing.

hmm... good point.... maybe you should also inherit the weapons of your target too ?

As for the seat number thing, again thats possible, altho it would mean more work for the helpdesk locating people

i think the idea is a good one, but i think that u need to run with seat numbers or other punters may take it the wrong way? i know if i caught someone sticker my belongings at a lan i wouldnt be too pleased at all, if i hadnt agreed to being in the game. i think its important to make it clear whos playing..

There would be no point in stickering a random persons belongings as "killing" a bystander gets you no points and loses you a weapon.

The bomb doesnt have a "blast radius" it just kills the user it was aimed at.

sounds like a good plan... again the gun one wouldnt work as you can just stick the sticker to them and yell bang in about 2 seconds....

ok now say you kill some guy... he gives you a card and that next guy turns out to be your assasin.... your basically out of cars within 2 kills... admittedly you get 6 points there but it seems rather short lived doesnt it...

do we then come to you for another victim or what?

the knife sounds better than the gun imo as you have to get up close and personal....but again has the same problem as the gun....

hmm
good point.. i didnt consider the cyclical problem....

that needs some thought. maybe just some code behind the "random" issue of targets to prevent the chain from looping back on itself.

Edit: Actually no, never mind ive got it. Take the list of all the participants, randomise it. And your target is the next person in the list. The last person then has the first person as a target. That way you would need to kill everyone before you got to your own assasin.

If, for some reason your target is a no-show... you bin your target card, and inherit theirs. (but not their weapons. as that wouldnt be fair).

thats fixed that problem....

but i swear everyone whos playing this is going to leavea nervous wreak from thinking that anyone stepping near them is either going to kill knife them, shoot them or blow them up.... next they will be employing food tasters to make sure they dont kiel over and die....

I'm up for this, however, seat numbers WILL need to be on there - it would be BAD for the helpdesk otherwise

no u miss my my point, by not knowing a persons seat number they might place the bomb on the wrong location. just by watching the guy and where he is sitting might not be where he is actually located for all the lan? hence the target need to have the seat number?

How about a link to the online/internal seating plan? The only people asking the helpdesk where people sit should be spectators who don't have access to a PC imo

Because it's not like there's a huge list of people with their seatnumbers next to them on the website?

Not giving the seat numbers just means you have to load up the seating plan and do a quick ctrl+f, hardly makes it more challenging so probably not worth the hassle that help desk would get from people too lazy to look themselves.

a few other ideas for weapons

instead of knife, how about the garotte? the cheese wire, can only be deployed from rear of the target. knife can be from front. i like the idea of decoys too, for example a dummy bomb on the pc, person finds it, assasin then attacks the target as they have found the dummy bomb and exposed themselves. anyone wanna try drive by ala uzzi style or hit and run with carpark?

This could make for some superb footage for the bytes ... cue suitable David Attenborough voice over ... " .... and here we see the predator in his natural habitat, the Tote Bar, see how he stealthily approaches the Noob CS player who is oblivious to his surroundings while he is watering himself with some TEA, and before he realises, it's all over, stickered and plastered at the same time, we watch as the predator loots his prey for his card ... Just thinking about how the game would get played... and i`ve hit a stumbling block.

If someone uses up all their weapons, and hands over the card. they are now essentially out of the game. However, there is still an assasin out to get THEM.

When that person finally gets them, there will be no weapons, and no "next target" card for that person. A dead end.

I think a change to the rules should mean that the would be assasin keeps the card rather than passing it on. so that at least he can pass it to HIS (or her) assasin if / when they get killed.

The only problem i can see with this is totaling up any "bonus points" for the kill.

Maybe you should retain any "disarmed" weapon stickers and get 1 point for each one.

Would mean you could potentially rack up some really high bonus points by evading subsequant attackers as they come down the chain.

Unless in the best traditions of FPSes you have a wholly ineffective, pointless and complicated 'melee' weapon which is so blatently obvious it reveals the attacker, like a huge foam hand with 'weapon' written on it which must be used on a particular body part whilst shouting 'wibble' repeatedly?

edit: Is this an oppurtunity to wang people to death?

Heres something a bit silly....

How about no stickers at all? Just use bread sticks or something similar to poke your mark from behind (ooer). You then have a limitless supply, everyone has the same weapons and theres no fair/not fair if you kill someone and gain nothing because they used all their weapons.
