Embed fileplay movies

Seems silly that we can embed youtube movies but not fileplay on the forums any plans to add this feature?

yea i noticed the same all you get is a link. the problem with embedding videos is that it does not actually bring much more people to a site compared to the ammount of times they got watched on the said site/forum they where embeded onto. meaning it does not generate enough revenue per hit making it a bit of a waste of time.

I hope they do allow it at some point even if its just to people willing to pay for the ability to embed. im also guessing its to save them incase they ever get any exclusive content.

but fileplay is owned by MPUK as well.....

and they do not get money per hit on the videos on their site...

It's simply not fully functional at the moment for us to enable it - ie, if we allowed it we wouldn't have control over what happened to it.

Safe to say though, it's coming soon

In your Fileplay user account, it uses much larger avatars so direct migration at this time wouldnt work well. The other round is a distinct possibility, something for shed / rob to add to the list

I keep contemplating becomming a fileplay subscriber not for any download speeds cause I feel I get full whack all the time on the normal servers but just for early beta access to games.

Also I notice

"Subscription signups are currently disabled but you are working hard to bring them back as soon as possible."

but the buttons appear to work fine?

Yep some old text left in from the night of the BFBC2 launch when PayPal was having issues, removed it now

On the speed side what's your line speed?

Im on 10mb virgin and unless you have recently throttled non subscriber downloads I have normally always got full speed ...

Which I think you may have just looking now I notice "Member - Speed Limited to 200KB/s" Im sure that wasn't there a few weeks ago?? Im deffo sure I used to Get about 1.10-1.20MB/sec download speeds

Curious are movies that are streamed on the same bandwidth for all users or do they take into account you sunscriber status?

The limit has been updated recently yes. New limits are:
  • Public: 100KB/s
  • Member: 200KB/s
  • Subscriber: Unlimited

Additional to what K mentioned, it also involved altering the queue (by removing it) and increases the availability of mirrors - so far seems to have been much better than seeing 'Over 1 hour' as the queue time

Hopefully. Other than earlier access to some betas there is no appeal atm. Many people if they don't get decent download speeds would just look else where for the file and not subscribe. Can't see anything yet to justify £20/year

During the BF2BC beta (and other times i have noticed) i was getting 5.4MB/s down on a member account. I take it this is not meant to happen?

The stream isn't affected by status - the bitrate is actually written on the page ~2mbps + audio and ~0.5mbps + audio (audio on both is 'max')
