So been trying to find a proper job since 09' and finally got to a level in the last few months where i've been able to make a go at being a full-time freelance artist and most of the work out there is in indie games/rpg covers/iphone assets etc so needed to learn how to do backgrounds and environments and thats what came out The ruined city one is a cover for an rpg game called Hereafter

If you look around the edges and at the bottom there is not alot of detail there. Use a few tricks to focus the eye. Eyes always go the lightest but first then the most detailed bits - in the ship and on the cliff at the top, round the edges much less detail as well as desaturating and darkening the corners also focus the attention where you want people to look meaning with faster stuff like that it takes you much less time than doing a whole detailed image. Anyway, managed to get this out of my system in the past few days, I have not yet given my nightfury a name
