Hmm...just a thought, lots of people seem to hate cs, but is the reason for this to do with the game or just their system/connection or even something else?

Vote in this poll to settle it once and for all...:D

(okay...I admit to hating CS, but only cos its frustrating with a 56k when it lags, and you get killed and have to wait the whole round, it was actually ok on a LAN though methinka)

(poll inspired by this thread http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9966)

and what option do you choose if you don't believe bandwidth makes a sodding bit of difference to playing/enjoying the game?

i play online occasionally, and i play at lans occasionally.

CS is *far* too 'serious'. Its great fun to play at LANs with loads of equal-ability people, who're just having a laugh - however, play it with people who are expert, against those who are not makes it very boring. And playing with those who take it all seriously, also takes the fun edge off things

Personally, i believe a game should be fun, and not about winning.

I don't "hate" cs per-se however I do think its got steadily less fun over the years, I remember having great games of it around the time of i3, at i4 it all started getting serious then its all gone downhill from there on

it has all got too serious...some of u may have heard our DCL cursing out loud when we lost a round in the i11 "fun tourney" needless to say i shut him up and told him to go get the beers.

but i enjoy it for a laugh...it did used to be better...but hey so did i :(

having said that you never feel bad after owning some one in a clan match.....fresh from 23:1 victory in ECSL :) ...we had to let them have 1 just so they didnt feel too bad :p:

I don't think its a question of CS being too serious but more some of the people who play it!

CS is a very unique game for me because it can cause a sense of great satisfaction and also a utter sense of frustration.

Sometimes after a bad game i *hate* CS but then i always find myself playing it again a day later. :/

the game is ok albeit a little boring - the culture and people (generally) aren't.

that doesnt include a lot of people before you bitch.

Oh CS is definatley made (or broke) by the ppl who play it, however since they left the beta stage imho the game has started to suck more and more, turning it into a simulation.

BRING BACK BETA 6.1!!!!

Same, early beta's were fun, guessing the terrorist / CT's by the length of their shirt sleeve. Unfortantly, it became less fun with each release, as more players started taking it deadly serious.

i used to play CS online ALOT. and it was fun. I then went to a cybers dreamlan and realised that online was pointless drivel next to the LAN scene and havent really ever played online properly since.

cyber.... has corrupted me! :evilbastard:

Hmm...73% of people who love CS (ie. just taking into account the top two options) have broadband connections and 63 percent of people who hate it do so because hating CS is the next big thing
