War Gamer has done up a preview based on E3 on the new Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword. Heres a snip:

For Rainbow Six, the number was one. For Rogue Spear, the number was 4. For Ghost Recon, the number was 4. Athena Sword will be #1 for Raven Shield.

The established tactical shooter franchise of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six has seen its share of expansion packs and standalone offshoots. Although it's easy to laugh about the continued milking of the franchise, those expansion packs are typically recognized as some of the best made for any game. Rogue Spear's Urban Operations and Ghost Recon's Island Thunder are widely respected and considered standards among regulars of the franchise. So it came as no surprise to us that the Italian developer who showed us the first Raven Shield expansion pack, Athena Sword, was looking to put his game on that same pedestal.
