Following the rude awakening at StratLAN where I was "reminded" that I can still be beaten at Allegiance, I think that it's only fair that we start playing much more online. Perhaps twice weekly get-togethers (once midweek and once at the weekend) so that everyone can further improve their skills.

agreed! It took a good half hour to an hour to figure out that allegiance no longer had a place at the Zone and a good deal more to connect to some servers.

Then CS stole my life again, made my wife pissed off and made my shelf bear the load of a damn fine game that is Allegiance! I really must get it out again.

Name the time and the place and i'll be there in all newb like fashion.

Roughly converting that to the world of allegience I would say that you can't call shotgun until you have entered the lobby directly preceding the game ;)

YAY bought allegiance today

cept i mhaving probs - whenever i click on public games or zone games it wont let me click any of the buttons

ive downloaded patch but all it had was a .cfg file and nothing is different

You need to get MA Switcher (or something like that) which allows you to connect to 'community servers/lobby' instead of MS servers/lobby - you could probably also download the Dreghklar patch as many servers use it now

Got the 1.25 patch and about to try playing

once you've done the 1.25 patch and the switcher program is set to community servers everything you need gets auto-updated to your machine when you log on - great for simplicity - very bad for lans with no internet access

I logged on last night. I got the 'autoupdate' progress bar.

Then allegiance bombed, and now it bombs EVERY time I try to start it up, without even doing the first screen draw.

Nice one, whoever programmed the ****ty core change *OR* whoever let the update server get hacked by some people wanting to put some nasty code up.

Great, now I need to wait until a LAN to get an old version, or perhaps there's a bug in the latest core which means I can't play on my setup.

hmm i updated my files but then when i said get current games lsit the connectin gbox appeared and it froze. It did this 4 times so im guessing its not gonna solv itself - HELP

i'm patched to alleg+ r2 fine...

OverlordRob: if you're connecting from behind a proxy/nat server (winroute or ics for instance) you find that you'll need to reboot your machine and your gateway together to get back into allegiance sometimes

Afty: have you tried doing a clean install, patching it with their 1.25 update, using the switcher and redoing the update?
