just reading a multiplay column about ways the industry could stop cheators.

which got me thinking: hmm in the virtual world of the matrix they still feal pain......heheheh

hows about to play online games you have to have a "smart mouse" the game will only load if you own this particular mouse.
the buttons of this mouse will be metalic .

if a cheat is detected on the pc being used a small but noticable electric shock is delivered every time the cheat trys to fire a weapon. This system could be linked to any anti cheat software . and hopefully the cheat will give up due to the pain delivered to him each time a weapon is used.

ofcourse mouse could not be used by users with weak hearts

or hows about anti cheat software that corrupts the game if a cheat is found...or even better corrupts the game + os and destroys any folder with important content eg delete all files created by serious software such as office photoshop etc....thus causing the cheator to loose his job for not producing work on time. from this point the cheat will become homeless , and die in a drunken stupa. leaving the online gaming world better off#

any more novel anti cheat ideas/punishments?

err they are both highly illegal.

Personally, just play a game which isnt full of cheating little sh*ts because the engine is floored.

Mobile forces is like CS except with vehicles and using the UT engine (which has better record of anti-cheat server side packages) ..... http://www.mobileforces.com/

Cheats are a sad little bunch of script kiddies which try to prove just how impotent they are by gaining an unfair advantage. Bit like using a strap-on if you only have a 2inch cock.

I have to say that alot of the players online that are acused of cheating dont actuly cheat although some of them do, im accused of cheating atleast once a week and im not that good, mainly because i dont play counterstrike enough im sure that any players that play all the time 24-7 as it were can get head shots on a reflex and can predict very acurately what most players are doing/going/camping etc...

Ive only ever seen 2 mabey 3 cheaters online playing counterstrike and ive been playing it for almost 2 years.

Yeah its a real shame - in delta force if you could play well you were respected but now in counter strike unless you're playing on a very good server any sign of doing well and some1 calls you a cheat.

Darkwolf: my sentiments exactly

If someone is found cheating whilst playing said game online, by well (in this scenario lets use VAC as an example)- then their cd-key can no longer be used on online servers that are authed with WON, ever again.

If that happens then they just get another one....

Yeah but that'd be an expensive way to play a game just to cheat.
I mean who'd pay £10 or whatever to buy the game again just cos they cheated?

once VAC is up and running fully, rather than just kicking people as it does presently, anyone found with cheats will have that WON ID deleted from the WON system, they will not be able to play online with that cd key/won id anywhere in the world.

erm to cheat you have to defeat cheat protection systems which one assumes would be similar to the way the use of a "smart mouse" would be enforced
