No dialtone

I am running 2k and whenever my modem dials up it KILLS the dialtone for that telephone line. It aint the line as im running off that now, it aint the modem to jack cord either as im using that too.

HELP PLEASE

I cant stand this 486 ne longer, plus i have no MSNger *SOB SOB*
My life is gone....or just starting
