i think that some thing is wrong with my internet explorer coz every time that i got to a secure server it comes out with
page cannot be displayed
and thats on every secure server that i go to
so please please as anyone got any ideas on how to sort this coz i am well ****ed out off now
have you tried re-installing it?

In tools > internet options > security
make sure all is right, and you havent accidently cranked them up too high.
Else re-install or fiddle with it more

if anyone has the same problem then what you need to do is go to the internet explorer settings panel go to the connection tab, then at the bottom of that yer is a button with LAN Settings click on that then make sure that all the boxes are uncheaked
and bang problem sorted

i got a prob with net explor, all the font on web sites is smaller than it should b. like 1 size smaller. like on google at the bottom it says ©2002 Google - Searching 2,073,418,204 web pages, it shows it really small, like smallest font, i when to internet options then font, but it didnt do n e thing.

View Menu -> Text Size -> Medium
Fixed :)
Hold down ctrl + scroll the mousewheel - that does the same thing.

yup - that confused me for a while. You need to go to view>test size and adjust it there.

ive got **** all do do. I've burned out all the job search engines :(
anyway being helpful gives me something constructive to do with my time. a crap load more constructive than anybody ive worked for in the last 4 years!

nah sounds like on of several things:-
1/ somethings eating port 443
2/ the remote server is down
tests:-
1/ have you got any firewalling software or are you behind a firewall etc?
2/ try another secure server.
