if its not much worse than ive been told, ill get it.. so if someone can confirm this for me:

Line Conversion: £50
ISDN Card: £25ish

ISP: 15ish
Phone Line Rental: Up to £25

------------------------------------------------------------

that correct? only gonna use single line, 64k isdn so i can use most 'anytime' dial-ups cause the cost would be immense...

Prices sound about right. To be honest, for the price differance, its hardly worth going for over 56k, If its at all possible you want ADSL / Cable

but u cant think about playing seriously with a 56k connection, any when neither of those are available in my area :(

ah well, such is life...

Wishy, have you ever used 64k isdn vs 56k modem ?

i mean 56k modem is never more than about 50k at best, and i normally got about 48k so 64k is significantly faster.

and its reliable, and connects instantly.

go for it mate. ISDN rox j00.

As Wishy said, with the lowering of ADSL prices, I would go for that, or cable. Only have pay £10 extra and you have 512kpbs access..

If you cant get either though, then for sure m8 get ISDN:)

like he said, he cant get cable/adsl so isdn is his only option.

aye, i live out in the sticks...

i dunno how old this site is:

http://www.bt.com/isdn/isdn2e/price_info/price_options.htm

thats all I can find on ISDN on the BT site... and f*** me, its expensive if I have to pay the connection charge and the rental charge... all I really want to do is get my line converted to be isdn compatable. after that pay £25 for my line rental and £15 for my isp... can i?

i mean, so many ppl have single line isdn and they cant all be uber-rich paying the damn £60 a month ontop of their isp :/
