This can't be true. Multiplay UK (Ltd.) use only the most recent builds of OpenBSD for their systems, and religiously apply security updates and patches, only as officially approved by the Ministry of BSD, and under papal direction.

It's clear to me that either someone forged the SMTP headers making you think it was Wizzo, or that perhaps one of the older machines at MPUK HQ was turned on for testing. Version 8.3 and older versions of OpenBSD were vulnerable to Nimda because they came with IIS turned on by default, but more recent versions have turned this off, and replaced IIS with the more advanced PWS, which has the advantage of running PERL out of the box.

Please contact your nearest approved vendor if you require further information or the latest updates for your Ministry approved flavour of BSD. If you are running the Windows flavour be advised that all releases are thoroughly pre-checked for bugs and security updates and there is no reason to panic.

OK panic now.

We're looking into it now, if you look at the headers you'll see it wasn't actually from Wizzo just the return address was set to wizzo@multiplay.co.uk

and its FreeBSD not OpenBSD on the mpuk servers afty ;)

If that was only discrepancy you spotted in my post then I pity your offspring :)

hehe I was skim reading it this morning, and would face the wrath of nik if I dared allow a mention of OpenBSD instead of FreeBSD to pass ;)

The joys of posting while trying to avoid letting the boss see you browsing the forums ;)
