... raidtec SANs. Bloody fiber switches are playing up at the moment and trashing data and crashing servers. Just lost 80gb of SQL disk literally 5 mins ago and last successful backup was saturday :(

Great as EVERY damn server has its disks on this bitch :p: ....

Morals of story:-

- SAN = bad ****ing idea.
- people buy good reviews in Windows 2000 magazine.
- all "data eggs" in one "SAN" basket = disaster.

/me bangs head on wall and awaits a looooong day :(

I havent had a problem with IBM drives, what i have a problem with is people setting up servers that are not behind a firewall of any description with every port open. Oh, and then the obviously complain when it gets hacked.

err this is a little larger scale than that lol :p: .... 20x NT/2k, 4x netware servers, 3x large unix servers .... fun day ;)

You dont know how many customers websites have been deleted then. By chance, this is the only server that isnt backed up.

hey i can hack IIS with just port 80 open ;)

all the ports arent the problem - the one with the right port open is the problem.

Customers are moronic if they dont know how to secure IIS properly. My old git just got 0wned again (4rd time by code red) so no comment (and hes an MCSE!).

ive got plenty - its not even lunch, I've been here since 7:45 and ive drank 3x coffees and 2x cans of coke...

I'm currently waiting for the high level network gurus to work out what the feck is going on while my SQL servers are being slowly eroded :p:
