Help on refreshing/updating game servers

OK here is my prob........
Everytime i got to update or refresh my server lists using gamespy or anything else related to getting servers even built in ones such as halflife's it does the first few 10 - 20 fine then my connection hangs as it will not refresh or update any more :(

I have to ethier dissconnect then reconnect to get it working again but somtimes i even have to restart as you can i magine this makes online gameing quite difficult as i have to pick the server first time practicly.

here are my system specs and connection........

Athlon XP 1500
512MB Ram
60GB IBM Deskstar
MaxiSound Fortismo 2
Asus Geforce 3 v8200 Deluxe
Standard DVD/CD

BTopenworld ADSL
Running on WIN ME

I've had a similar problem with my adsl, at first I assumed it was winroute, I don't need to reconnect though, it seems to sort itself out after about 5 mins, I'm on nildram for the record.
