MCSE Parents = f*ckwit ... what is wrong with people!?

Ok ... story coming....

so I get a call before lunch from old git who says "hey fancy a bit of lunch"? ... so i go over there.

When i get there, one crappy kwiksave ham roll and some swiss roll that tasted like dog crap. Then he lands the real reason

"oh can you have a look at the router you installed ... the internet is really slow ... we should have installed windows 2000 on it - at least i'd know what to do if it goes wrong" (this is an OpenBSD ADSL router box with a web server behind it running on IIS with port 80 forwarded).

Turns out there was bugger all wrong with the router. His poxy windows 2k web server was pissing code red out like nothing ive ever seen. Him, an MCSE no less, did a default install of Small Business Server with IIS...

ffs ARGHHHHHGHGHGHGHGH

So i clean out the server thanks to the symantec removal tools, apply patches to IIS and cleaned out the crap it'd left all over the hard disk. and went home. I didnt even get a thanks or acknowledgement for my efforts and the fact that if it wasnt for me the thing would still be spewing crap all over the internet.

then hes just phoned me and said his laptop has IIS on it and was plugged into the network. I told him to "**** off and sort it yourself"...

I'm sorry but that is unexcusable. Conclusion:-

- parents are ****wits.
- MCSEs (pretty much all of them) are clueless ****wits. Im not making exceptions there - it is proven.
- people only offer you lunch when they want you to do something.

I sooo hate people at the moment!!!!

I really need to take anger management courses ... or at least beat the **** out of people more often

Too many clueless n00bies (my mums friends mainly) know me as 'someone who knows about computers' and I swear the next time I have to guide someone through installing a program over the phone, give them advice on what scanner to buy - even though they dont want to hear my advice, they just want me to agree with the one they picked out of the Time ads in 'cluless n00bie' magazine or go and plug a mouse in I may have to start breaking some legs! :D

Someone who lives near us had bought a new USB mouse - and he said he had nowhere to plug it in. I had the previous week installed him a USB riser card, but he was adament he couldnt connect this mouse. When I got round there, he had a USB -> Serial connector, connected to a serial -> PS2 connector and was wondering why it wouldnt work! Geez!

And whenever I go round or spend hours on the phone to this particualr person, I get no thanks, or anything for it. It's like he expects me to spend hours of my time giving him PC help.

Anyways, ill stop ranting now!

There that scared that they might format my machine cause they ain't got a clue with what there doing. I keep telling them its not that easy to do, but they won't have any of it. So next to F***wits you can also put stuborn gits aswell.

It keeps um off my PC which must be a good thing.
