I know this belongs in the software topic, but can't see anyone reading that now we have this:

In XP, how do u change the IRQ for a device?

I will maybe be reformatting with a corp burn 2morrow to rid myself of activation. p33ps say it's not a pain. I swapped out a RAM stick and it threw a wobbly. so no more!

XP is like Win 2k and doesn't really use IRQ's
The IRQ settings are all handled internally in the OS. It's good cos you don't have to worry about them and making sure they are all different cos Win XP deals with it.
It might look like more than one device has the same IRQ but thats how XP/2k deals with it.

XP bungs everything on IRQ 9 / 11 -or- 5 (if you are unlucky). Its normally fine as there is a fast IRQ handler in the core scheduler. If you get too much on one IRQ though and the OS cant handle it, its gonna go blue a lot ... :(

I wouldnt worry too much TBH:-

Note IRQ 9 usage (and hacked GF2U -> Quadro *grin* ).

Simple as, I KNOW it is causing the conflict, I disabled it and it worked better. If it is not possible to change then I can make do. Anyone know of any software that can handle the speech synthesis in XP?
