Anyone planning on sending there PC to I10?

I was wondering about what the costs would be for a complete PC.

Any help would be most appreciated

Its in the reigon of £30. MAKE SURE it is GARENTEED to be there for I10 and also INSURED. PC's have arrived late and or broken before.

I couriered my Base unit to i9, and hired a monitor. Used Amtrak - and it was around £30. I did enquire about insurance, but was told something around £450.

Was also informed by the courier that parcels never go missing anyway, due to the way they operate and deliver goods.

So they picked it up, handed over the money and collected it 'boot markless' at newbury. ;)
End of newbury, wrapped up again, left it at reception, came back and rang them the next day to collect it. Day after it arrived early morning.
Excellent service and apparently Multiplay use the same people aswell. Not the cheapest courier - but you get what you pay for. I'd rather not send my PC with a company that charge £5, then have a game of football in the warehouse with the box :)

Oh and if you do courier - email multiplay a few days before so they know its on its way.

(....and no I don't work for them btw :D)

I would never trust a courier never to loose a computer. Back it up, make sure its insured, make sure you can live without it for a little while if its late / lost.

Packages do go missing and they do get damaged. Some coruiers are better than others, but they all loose things, if they tell you otherwise, they're talking ****e.

ill be mailing my pc down again. i did this at i8 and it cost £50, and arrived no problems. My friends home built computer got damaged however. During transit the cooling fan slipped slightly, so when he turned it on at i8, instant meltdown! Despite this ill be mailing the machine again.

After all Easyjet Edinburgh to Gatwick is the only way to travel!

you ALWAYS need to check the heatsink hasn't come loose during transit. ALWAYS. Don't even think about powering it up before you've check the heatsinks on firmly and the fan has the power cable in correctly. AMD systems WILL fry even if you leave the heatsink off for 1-3 seconds. 1-3 people loose a chip at all the I series i've been to since the move to sock A

im just worred cuz i aint got a shim on mine :(

The shim is only important when putting a HSF on, as you place the HSF at an angle, therefore pushing the angled HSF at the edge of the core. Once it's on though, it doesn't need it.

Wishy is right though. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MACHINE BEFORE POWERING UP! I do this with my machine, and I don't even courier mine, I bring it with me in my car. It's always advisible to check your internals of your machine out before pressing the power button. One loose fan wizzing around your case and BAM! Before you know it, you're down at reception asking them to put an announcement out for any spare parts!

Trust me, I've seen it happen.

being a little sad here but are you sure thats a UPS truck looks wrong colors more like a Fedex one :)

Many ppl from TA and ppl like Cash will remember that my fan always used to fall off...but then again it was only held on with selotape and sticky velcro pads :)

Those stories about fans dropping off make me glad i've got a window in my PC - instant check without having to take the side off...
