ickle problem...

NetStat Live has stopeed totalling the outgoing data ( to my lan ) from the 'net at 23.13 gigs... ( Bits I assume, not checked )

Does NetStat have a limit at which it stops?

Does anyone know how much 12,530,603 packets sent ( from windows nic monitor in 2k ) actually works out to be?

as you can probably tell, I get my money's worth fom my CM connection :-)

erm ... it shouldnt have a limit unless its crap. Install SNMP from the win2k/xp source media and find something that reads the interface statistics from that. Its accurate to byte level. Search for "SNMP interface statistics monitor" on google.com.

The packet size varies and that counts ICMP, UDP and TCP packets so its impossible to work out transfers from that.

Also, if it is an ftp service that you are running, look for logging options and log bandwidth as in wu-ftpd and that windows one that i cant remember the name of at the mo.

Also (again!), dont forget that the interface statistics isnt the total data transfer - it includes protocol overhead, so service monitoring would be best if you want real statistics ;)

have fun :)
