Where am I today?
I'm on a dodgy red swivel chair, which has long needed replacement, waiting for something intresting to happen.
My keyboard is normal, however has some dodgy marks on it, from dinners previous that have been eaten over the keyboard.
Currently inbetween Southsea and The M275

lol so whats all this about.
Well im at work sitting on a dodgy browny/white chair which is quite comfy but minging :), and using the company T3 (approx 45Mb) which if I check the router stats shows two users logged on at the mo, and on the firewall I can see he must be booking a holiday or something with Thompsons :)

I thought this was meant to be a running commentary of BGH's cruise.
I am siting in a room with about 7 computers, none of which have cases on, running through two KVM switches with a 8 port 10/100 switch connecting to an uplink port on the wall that has on the other end of it a machine with 2 ISDN lines going into it and it is logged into a Demon Internet account.
It is a dodgy setup that I have. you should see what I have at work. :D
Home and work are quite similar. I need a disk with that bloody DOS DEBUG assembler on it either way, and I keep a copy of GCC and TASM on a Cd in my back, along with a dictionary hacker.
Guess what I do for a living.

Cherry? Dodgy? /me strokes VERY nice cherry keyboard.
I'm sat at home, surrounded by 9 computers on my blue operators chair listening to music and spamming the boards while waiting for my workstation to boot after flashing the CD-RW

Was gonna be a running commentary but been too busy having a good time ;)
Stopped at Magdella and Casablanca now and currently halfway between Casablanca and Tenerife, regrettably it doesn't stop in Ibiza which is a shame, maybe next time zhar :)
95% of people here speak a foreign language which is proving "interesting" leaving me with a small group of guys to hang out with and 6 or 7 of the MOST boring english girls I've ever met to try and hit on
Luckily we have met some Italian girls who speak good english so hope springs eternal (well I can dream ;))
Managed to get a couple of rather nice ornate knives confiscated off me going onto the boat at Casablanca although apparantly I will get them back before I leave. Well I hope so anyway
Meant to be an Italy vs England football match tomorrow where we will hopefully trounce the italian scum, despite the fact that they have 40 potential players and we have about 6
Everyones gone to bed here atm, except for in the club playing ****e europop, however I have run out of options and think I might just go hang out in there for a couple of hours given that I'm no where near tired enough to go to sleep
Oh and did I mention the night life here really sucks, hence my l33t0r early morning online skillz
Anyway I'm off to try and chat up the Italian girl so gorgeous we only know her as "Godess"
This is BGH in a comfy place wishing you all a merry christmas if I don't sneak back on before then :)

Well i'm currently sitting in the business centre @ jasper park lodge hotel in Canada :)
So whereas BGH is in the warmth, i am in the -19degrees C temperatures of north canada.
Been skiing today - great fun, and doing lots of other cool stuff this coming week...
As i write this it is 8:46pm after having a very nice meal in the posh lounge, whereas in england it is approaching 4am in the morning (hehe).
Anyway, i doubt i'll have much more chance to write anything else, so all have a nice xmas and cu in the new year :)
btw this internet access is free :P and it seems exceedingly fast.

Well I think i'll use this thread to introduce myself!
I'm GeeDee and i'm sitting in a boring IT lesson in College on the last day of the term. Not a lot happening here - apart from I shall shortly be joining a game of Doom-2 Shareware thats going on next to me! :D
Well that's me (briefly) introduced and all being well I should see you all at i10.

I was always Indigo in DooM for some reason, i just liked the name of the colour.
You wil, sooner or later wish that you had never gotten into computers as it would mean that you wouldn't have come into contact with us on these boards. :D
/me hopes he understands my very tapped form of humor.

I've actually been lurking around these boards for a while now but this was the first time I actually bothered to register and post! :D
And i'm sure I won't regret coming into contact with every1 here - i'm really looking forward to i10 as it will be the first i-series event I will have had chance to attend (hopefully).

Not quite. Have a read about, let these kiddies do some work and nobody tell them what happened plz.
See if they can figure it out as there are active threads that comment on it. they should be able to put it together themselves.

I take it this (http://forums.multiplay.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6376) is it.
I do remember reading about that now. I have to admit that a few years ago I forgot to order a fan for my 'new' PII 233 and never got around to ordering one for about 6 months! That machine used to crash after about 25mins max after turning it on every time - got really annoying! Maybe I should have bought a fan sooner! :D
GeeDee

21st December 2001, 18:46
Oh, it had a fan on it, just not a very good one.
And it ended slightly worse.
TBH the only OEM machine I ever bougt was a 233and it came with a fan, it just wasn't attached to the CPU, it was just sitting in the case spinning. The company disappeared off the face of the earth shortly afterwards.

Well today I was mostly at the computer fair in Bracknell, which was hell on earth as 3 million people tried to clamber into one sports hall - not pleasant.
Anyway - after escaping that with a new hub and some keyboards, I went home and settled down to a few hours peace and quiet to read the papers and watch a couple of movies on Sky (Red Planet and Loser).
Later on I sat down to a nice roast dinner, along with a couple of glasses of champagane (I appear to be unusual here as I really like the stuff), and have spent the rest of the evening watching the Simpsons marathon on Sky and playing with my laptop.
I'll get my coat!

Newcastle are top of the league.....Even if we did "cheat", as my freidn Ian who supports Leeds says...fool. How can you cheat at football!? Anyway
Loser is such a cool film. I thought it'd be another typical american teenage film type thing, but its so funny!I just laughed so much....
And champagne is nasty stuff..give me real alcohol any time of the week...

Heh, gayOL, AOL, A rhymes with gay, AOL is gay therefore gayOL is kinda like a pun... kinda.... nevermind.
My point is, AOL suck! Someone should start a cult that burn disks in a tall pile every halloween.

AOHell also = AOL
In my PC youth I got a 50 free hours CD off em so I thought why not.
On I went. A month later I rang them up to cancel it and they said that would be £60 please.
I told them I had used the free month and use 48 of the 50 free hours.
She replied "We don't do a 50 free hours offer, do you have the CD with it on?"
I told em YES (I didn't, I'd thrown it away)
So she went deadly quiet and sai "Oh in that case I'll wipe your account for you"
Dumb AOL don't even know what offers they have.
