Would you have to rewrite all your number crunching code to use this or would it just share it across the nodes anyway?

yeah you would if the target platform is linux for example. Note that the network stack on Win32 platforms is crap to say the least so you'd lose throughput between the IPC on the machines unless you use something like Myrinet...

/me remembers the 8-way P2-233 cluster he built at uni ;)

I was just wonering if there was something like Mosix out for windows that would automaticly migrate all your task to another machine, now I have another overclocked one sitting about 2 inches away.

was trad redhat 5.2 based cluster running yonks old pvm implementation off myrinet ;)

dont know about mosix.
