I wonder if anyone can recommend a good tool that can be used to upload website using the HTTP protocol and not ftp? (similar in the methods that programs such as Frontpage use to upload)?

Cheers

answer: dont!

you need DAV plugins for the webserver which are bloody insecure to say the least.

Use ftp/scp/sftp else dont bother!

errr im not ignorant, its the nonces at EasyNet doesnt allow me to use ftp cause they presume all web developers use Frontpage pah. Anyways im told Web Publishing Wizard supports it so ill look at that.

also while we are on the subject of ftp, etc what the hell is the chmod command for ftp, I can use it fine within telnet, and ive used it before in dos ftp but I just cant remeber the exact string its something like

site chmod print <access rights> <filename> (its the print switch I know is wrong but what is missing)

bit longer then the telnet but it is possible
