Hi everyone,

Below is all the information you’ll need about the WCG Online Qualifiers. Please take a few minutes to read these guidelines and rules specific to your game.

Universal Information
The IRC channel #wcguk on Quakenet is the recommended place to be for meeting up for matches, alerting admins or posting results. I will be at the very least idling if not keeping an eye on this channel during match times.

Match days are Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday starting between 19:00 and 21:00 from Sunday 22nd June to Tuesday 15th July inclusive dependant on the number of matches for that game. It is requested that if you cannot make the allocated time of your match that you reschedule with your opponent before the start of the next round. It is each player’s responsibility to inform each other and the admins of rescheduled times as if one player turns up on time and the other does not show within one hour of the allocated start time the match will be forfeited.
In the case of Counter Strike, where our voluntary admins will be watching games, an admin’s approval of rescheduling a match when they are available to watch over it is paramount to allowing the game to be rescheduled.

Game Host
In the case of most peer to peer games, the first game is hosted by the player on the Left side of the matchup in Clanforge, the second by the player on the Right side and the tie breaker by the loser of the second game. The host can be the other player at any time if both players agree.

UPDATE: 1st July 2008

A few things relating to the Online Qualifiers
Matches that need to be played

Group matches for the following games must be played and have their results entered into the ‘My Matches’ section of the WCG site at http://wcg.multiplay.co.uk/mymatches

Age of Empires III
FIFA 08
WarCraft 3
Guitar Hero 3
Need for Speed: Pro Street
Project Gotham Racing 4
Virtua Fighter 5

The Double Elimination stage for the above games will begin at 19:00 on Thursday 3rd July. Any match results not reported by 12:00 on Thursday 3rd July will not be accounted and you may lose out on a promotion place if you do not enter your results.
In all cases BOTH players must enter the score in so they can be confirmed.

Games finished by Thursday 3rd July

Age of Empires III
Halo 3
Need for Speed: Pro Street
Virtua Fighter 5

StarCraft
C&C 3

These games are moving along nicely and will continue to the original schedule. All StarCraft group games must be completed and reported by 12:00 on Monday 7th July

Counter Strike 1.6

Apologies for last night, I was packing down an event in StratLAN and wasn’t able to admin any rescheduled games. Could clans please convene in #wcguk on Quakenet this evening to sort out missed games. Tonight is a scheduled night so the servers and admins will be busy but any day after that is fine. The deadline for reporting all CS 1.6 matches is Thursday 10th July at 12:00. Any matches not reported by then will not be accounted for calculating promotions to the double elimination stage.

Clarification on Defaulting

A player or clan will default a game if

- They are not present in the server or lobby and cannot be hailed in #wcguk on IRC 30 minutes after the scheduled time in Clanforge AND

- They have not contacted ME (Doccykins on IRC) in PM saying

- You cannot make your match

- You have tried to contact your opponent with no avail

- Which game, match, time and opponent you are trying to reschedule.

Clarification on rescheduling

When rescheduling a match, again contact ME and ME only (Doccykins in IRC) in PM saying which game, opponent and time is being rescheduled. BOTH PLAYERS/TEAMS MUST DO THIS before I will reschedule it in Clanforge. I will respond when I have confirmed a mutually agreed time and changed it.

DO NOT PM ME IN IRC WITH JUST MY NICK. I WILL CLOSE THESE WINDOWS WITHOUT REPLYING. Always follow up with your query and I’ll get to you when I can.

Clarification on Appeals Procedure

If you wish the admins to review a replay for unfair play please follow these guidelines:

-Contact me via Email with a link to the demo or recording of the game in question, stating exactly where, when and by who the unfair play was committed. The evidence must be sufficient enough to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that an offence was committed.

-The review panel will analyse the replay/demo and respond to the claimant within 24 hours of what, if any, action will be taken.

-The review panel will contact the defendant of the claim if they decide to impose a sanction of any sort. The defendant has 24 hours from this contact, which will be via email, to put forward their defence.

-If after 24 hours there is no reply from the defendant, or the defence case is not sufficient to overturn this decision, the sanction will be imposed.

-If the defence case is sufficient to overturn the sanction decision, it will not be imposed.

In cases where the result in Clanforge does not match your belief of the score

-Make sure you have submitted the result. A result with two conflicting scores will be questioned where a single score will not.

-If possible, please provide me with a link to the replay of the match in question. If this is not possible, the admins will contact both sides and if an agreement cannot be reached, the match will be replayed with an admin present in game.

-If the defendant of a claim cannot be contacted within 24 hours of the claim, the score will be changed.

-In all cases, if the defendant has entered a score into Clanforge when the accuser has not, the score will not be overturned.

That should be all, if you have any other questions or comments please contact me in IRC (again directly with your questions and not just highlighting me) or by email to doc@multiplay.co.uk
