For anyone who is missing having Adblock in Firefox 3, here's a simple way of installing it.

Download the .xpi file (don't install it) for adblock, and then open it with an archive program (E.G Winrar). Extract install.rdf from it, and edit it with a text editor such as wordpad.

Change this line in the code:

<!-- FireFox -->
<em:targetApplication>
<Description>
<em:id>{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>0.7</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>4.0</em:maxVersion>
</Description>
</em:targetApplication>

Make sure the maxVersion reads 4.0. Place it back into the archive, and drag the .xpi into a FF3 window and install it. Hey presto, Adblock in FF3.

Why are you still using adblock? It got abandoned a long time ago, and adblock+ replaced it, and has been updated to work fine with ff3.

I had to do that for Adblock+ last night. It wouldn't update itself properly.

Mine just disabled the add-ons which didn't have a FF3 version, I'll just wait till they get updated then I'll get it automagically over update :)

I don't see why you'd use Adblock over AdblockPlus. The latter is a better version of the former with auto-updating blacklists and FF3 compatibility straight off the addon site...
