PS3 [GTA4] Driving 101

How the hell do you corner at speed?! I mean srsly.. I can't get around corners without having to slow right down.

The only real effective method I've found so far, is to approach the corner, swing wide, aim for the apex and then hold handbrake and brake then as you pass the apex release the brake and try to use the accelerator to control the slide, but it's ropey at best.

Other than that i just slow down and handbrake round the corner. Its not really at an extreme speed tho. Pretty hard to honest.

Dont use the regular brakes, tap the handbrake before the corner and put a full lock on. You will drift around the corner lovely.. Takes a bit of pratice, and you will lose some speed, but great when u pull it off :D

Powering out of skids doesnt really work since its not done properly, the fastest way round ive found is when your coming straight up the turn at full speed hit full reverse and handbrake then let go and turn normally.

Reverse is brake. Try holding down L2 for a while :)

I found it! It's as simple as using R1 to turn. It pushes the car directly 90 degrees, so just brake a bit then tap R1 to go around the corner :)
