Nobody seemed to be able to answer the other bundle of questions I had in the M Festival forum, hopefully the trend won't continue here! Anyway, so the WCG UK online qualis are taking place between the 8th June and the 15th July.

Are matches rearrangeable? I ask this because I'll be on holiday starting I think the second week of July for a couple of weeks in sunny Portugal with limited internet access, so I'll be around for most of the qualifiers but not all of them. There's not much point signing up for 5 weeks' worth of qualifier if I'll get disqualified/penalised at the end for not being around to play my matches in the last week.

Thanks,

EDIT: Oh, and a second question I forgot to ask - I'm assuming at the moment that you can only sign up to play one game in any of the qualifiers. Is this the case, or could I sign up for two?

The schedule for the online qualifiers will be published after registration has closed, and games may be shceduled for any date within the period 8th June - 15th July. Providing both teams are happy to rearrange the match and that there will be no impact on the rest of the tournament (eg delaying the next stage or round) then we have no problem with matches being played at alternative times.

You can only register for one game, however if you get knocked out you could still try again for that game, or another game at the last chance qualifiers at M Festival later in the year.

I hope this answers your question, sorry you didn't recieve a reply in the M Festival forum. If you've got any more then please don't hesitate to get in touch :)

I believe you get free entry if you've qualified for the nationals? Don't take my word as sacred on that, though.

Yes, if you win the Online Qualifiers you will recieve free entry to M Festival for the Nation Final.

What's the format for the WCG Touranment?

16 man tourney or what? How many advance to the M festival?

It'll depend on the game you're playing and the number of entrants. In the past, I believe the qualifiers for games like WC and SC have taken the form of group stages with winners advancing to the nationals.

It would make sense for 3 or 4 players from both qualifiers (online/offline) being given spots in the nationals so that there's actually a decent number of players turning up allowing for no-shows - instead of a 4 man round robin or double elim. Obviously this would depend on numbers, though.

Note that my word is not sacred and the second paragraph was actually opinion, not fact. Multiplay will probably have their own ideas, but the qualifier registration period ends on the 16th June so you won't have to wait long to find out, anyway. :)

I've just put together a page for you outlining how many people will be promoted from each qualification stage to the final :)

Check it out: http://wcg.multiplay.co.uk/2008/nationals/matrix/

4 people?

I think a 8 man tourney is a lot better than 4.

Is there gonna be a loser bracket?

Obviously the qualifiers provide the bulk of the matches. These are the group stages of the tournament. Those numbers represent the number of people who will be taking part in the National Finals for each game :)

I'm a little bit confused about the BYOC element - does that mean if we didn't purchase tickets for i34, we can't attend the last minute qualifiers? Seems a little strange to me. It would also be a little annoying, as I did ask that question previously and it went unanswered while i34 tickets were selling out.

EDIT: Additionally, if we are allowed to turn up BYOC for the last minute qualis having not purchased an i34 ticket, what happens if we get knocked out? Without access to i34, that'll mean a long and arduous trip down/home for some people for absolutely no reason. Being able to attend the M Festival doesn't seem like much compensation when it's i34 most would be interested in.

So CNC3 only has 4 players in the finals? Would be nice if you could play all cnc3 games on the first day (9th August), just for me =)
