To add to the fever... news in..

1. It has been pirated and leaked (6.32gig) and downloadable from somewhere. (xbox360 version).

2. More PS3 versions have been preordered in the UK than Xbox360 versions, this is also the same in OZ. Asda are claiming it's a 3 to 1 ratio (PS3 to XB).

3. If you are thinking of getting a PS3, hang on, there is a PS3 : GTA4 pack coming.

And I havent pre-ordered it yet! :p

I think i will wait on the PS3, all the games i want currently are also on the 360 which i own atm and untill PSN Home and dual shock 3 are out im not gaining much, already have blu-ray/HD-DVD on pc.

It may also be a must buy ps3 game, where there are plenty of xbox360 titles around to take your money there are fewer decent ps3 titles. So if you own a PS3, chances are you are going to be buying this title.

Exactly what i meant. I wasn't trying to start a console war as a PC is better than anything. But Playstation and GTA go together like Xbox and Halo go together.

From playing it around my friends house. Due to the Xbox 360 being cheap, alot more people can now afford it, including Chavs on the Dole.
We were playing Halo 3 online and all i could hear from other players was "Aw mate i nearly 'ad y' ya' ****in' tosser!"

Picked up my PS3 yesterday as my HDMI 7.1 and 42" LCD set arrived on the same day!! GT5 looks sick fair play & uncharted is great fun to play, Gonna pick my copy up at midnight on monday then god help me getting to sleep that night :D

all i can say is 'hmmmmmmm'

Not as solid as what i was hoping for at all - Especially the issues with the framerate. I don't know if its just me - but i have yet to see it play what i would call 'smoothly' - whenever i'm in a car i suffer from framerate drops

it's stopping me from playing it right now - hurts my eyes to be quite honest

Graphics are so, so - people were going on about how the city looks and feels so good but it's quite hard to get into it when nearly everything that isnt right next to you is a blurred mess - My TV isn't the best (720p i'm playing it on) but i expected better.

The only thing that really annoys me right now is the framerate - i wouldn't mind someone else confirming that they also get these issues and it's not just my PS3 (i have a 60GB btw) and if it isn't just me i'll live with it

Just had a go at lunch on mine for an hour, never had any of the issues you've said.

I also have the 60gb version, managed to charge around in the car without any framerate issues at all.

No clue, played it for hours and never had a single issue with fps, freezing or anything. Fantasic game.

As for the blurredness when your moving in the car distance, its been in all the 3D GTA games.

As said, played it for hours without a problem :) no framerate drops, running it on my 24" dell at 1080p.

The one problem I do have is connecting to the multiplayer, apparently it's a known issue on both consoles at the moment. Anyone else managed to connect to it yet?

"Unable to connect to game provider, please try again later" is the message I get.

The games only rendered at 630p on the PS3, but scaled to whatever resolution you've chosen, so it won't make much difference to the quality. Probably does it in a better way than getting your TV to do it though, especially since the text / hud is apparently drawn after upscaling. Not sure how PS3's work, but the 360 just has a global output setting that gets used.

Great game (so far) however my biggest problem with the game is the mobile phone screen text is FAR too difficult to read. It's not the text size (which you can make bigger) its the stupid Dark grey background with Black text. It's the same on both versions and I really do have a problem reading it (unless I change the brightness level up and sit a LOT closer to the TV than I would like to). :(:

^ I tried on the Xbox360 last night, first time it failed and sent me straight back to single player game. The 2nd time I ended up in a lobby on my own (didnt get around to actually playing). So Maybe :D

Purchased @ midnight on monday, got it home nasty frame rates ect, replaced the disk for another same prob: Bit of a chat later with a sony representive = problem solved

The game has a bug where by it will always load 780p even if 1080p is avaiable so you need to go to the PS3's display settings / HDMI Cable / "Custom"/ and then deselect every resolution (besides 1080p ofc) to force 1080p.

As i had just moved into my new house no net is in place at the moment, so the PS3 was running on vanilla firmware, so went to the sony website DL'd the 2.30 version and popped it on a usb stick, updated the system,

HDMI colour output to full and bam the city lights up so pretty, even the buildings in the distance look nice now.
*Edit* Read an FAQ there is a slight detail loss if u switch to full so, leave setting on limited and lower brightness and contrast to personal preferance to get a nicer image
Only managed to get a couple hours in on it at the moment due to work but got Fri, sat and sun off, but from what ive played very enjoyable from the moment my hat fell off scuffling with a bum to when me and the driver coming at me from the other direction crossed paths as we flew at each other through the windscreens at speed :D

has anyone noticed a bug with the sound at times? peoples voices especially. If you're speaking to someone on the phone or outside near a deep sounding car exaust it goes all muffled and wierd

I've been playing it on and off for about 11hrs and I'm 30% through now :) I'm not rushing it because I'm also playing the multiplayer a lot and also switching back to SupCom all the time :p

Multiplayer Online? Well it's a bit of a Hit & Miss affair, depending on if my friends are playing or not.

On my own, I rarely get into any games, I select the game I wish to play, it goes to connect to a server, I hear some voices (other players) then get kicked out (more often than not).

With friend, I join a friends server (on Party Play), can mess around in the lobby (which is the city with all weapons/vehicles/etc) then..
1. We do a co-op mission.. Works every time, it's great fun really is awesome.
Oh anyone wants a challenge we done hangmans noose on medium difficulty (4 players) in under 4 minutes :D
2. We try a team game, where it all becomes hit and miss again. It may work, it may randomly kick people from the game, it might kick randomly from the lobby..

What I will say is this, this game Multiplayer (when it works) is the most fun multiplayer game I have ever played in a LONG TIME. It is really hard to explain how much fun it is, really, it is..

40% through the single player so far, and really did enjoy "three leaf clover" mission. Hopefully there are more in the game like that :D

The multiplayer is fun :) I had trouble at the start due to my router so I've changed it and set the PS3 as DMZ and everything is fine now. Before that I used to get constantly kicked with the message "lost connection to one or more players". However the fun of it is dependant on the people you play with as well, get someone who knows what they're doing and it's the most fun multiplayer game I've played.

I like playing Cops n Crooks mode myself, great fun to be had in that :D

Aye the bank job mission was intense, great fun. With multiplayer i am unfortunatly yet to try it, moved house so got the new line put in yesterday so should be all hooked up in about 6 days time max, should all post PSN ID's on here and organize some MPUK games :) ill edit or repost with my ID as soon as i sign on in the next few days.
