Yeah good luck getting it, constant network errors and downloading failures.

Best to wait a day or two, the beta doesn't actually start till the 21st anyway.

If you're having problems getting your Konami/Game ID for the beta, try this guide - it worked perfectly for me.

1.You need Firefox

2.Goto Tools Add ons, Get Extensions

3.Find the AutoFormer add on and install it and restart the browser
goto https://id.konami.net and click register (Blue button on the left) - might take a while but keep trying

4.Enter your date of birth and go to edit in Firefox menu and find AutoFormer, click Save all fields - this will now save you entering the DOB again if you need to come back to this stage

5.click next

6.Wait until the terms show before clicking next again

7.Fill out the entire form carefully, don't rush you have all the time in the world. Make sure you don't use capitals in username, and make sure game id password is all numbers. Make sure phone number and postcode have no spaces

8.now before clicking next click edit again and AutoFormer>save all fields
Click next, it'll probably fail due to time taken to complete the form. Don't worry

9.Start again, this time your DOB should be auto inserted click next to terms, click next to form, click next to confirmation click next and you're done -
SIMPLE!!!

Beta was supposed to start today, but unsuprisingly the EU portion of it has been put back at least until tomorrow. From the beta site:

We would like to thank all players for their keen interest in taking part in the beta test.
However, we regret to inform you that due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected.
As a temporary measure, we will be deferring the European public beta test and start it once we stabilize our server.
We would like to apologize for all inconveniences as well as confusion caused.

We would like to add that due to the above reasons, we will be making the following changes to the schedule:
1) Start date: Planned for 04/25/2008 24:00(PDT). While the start is planned for the weekend, it may change due to unforseen circumstances.
3) Beta Test closure: This will now be on 05/11/2008 at 24:00(PDT) rather than 05/05/2008 at 24:00(PDT)


I guess the servers just can't handle the numbers signing up - it's a pain, seeing as the Japs are happily fragging away on their beta, which seems to be working fine. Sort it out Konami!

Yeah the beta is up and running FINALLY - it's very good :)

the objective based games are very good, force you to work as a team

deathmatch and team deathmatch, however.....not so good
