UT game is laggy with cable

Hi all....

I hope someone can help me with this small itchy problem i have...lol.....no seriously...
i have a 512k cable connection and my online ut games run great...
the prob is that when i create a game and invite my 56k friends to play, only 1v1 or 1v1v1 they are really laggy...???
when we join a game together they are ok..so i believe the problem is with me..
i can actualluy see them lagging in the game while my game speed is fine.
when i used to create a game back when i had 56k they were ok..?? but now things don't seem quite right..
this is a shame as my friends dont stand a chance with a 1 second delay when useing weapons or running around.!!!

any help would be much appreciated.

Its prolly to do with the route that your mates on 56k have to take to get to your server...

As you say their pings are fine when you all go play on public servers... because any problems connecting to them are reported and fixed quickly, where as no1's going to know if theres a problem with the line to your house.

Get them to do a traceroute to your IP to see where the problem is... its prolly an exchange they have to go through thats having problems, or they are being diverted through a faw away place... like france hehe (I laugh but it happens)

Your best bet is to just play on public servers, because there's a slim chance BT will fix a problem unless there lots of people moaning about the problematic exchange/router etc

If it is anything to do with your cable (which is doesn't sound like there is) then find out where the problem is and report it to NTL or whoever your provider is.
