Hello everyone.

Does anyone know if packard bell or multiplay will rent out computers (again) for foreigners?

I want to attend i34, but since my friend aint coming with me this time, i'm forced to go by plane as i live in the Netherlands. I would like to bring my computer along, but i'm quite afraid it won't survive a trip to england by plane.

I'd like to borrow or rent one from packard bell or any other sponsor / company @ i34.
Does anyone have experience with borrowing computers, and if so, could u please help me out how to contact those who are supplying those computers?

Thanks in advance.

David,
Nearer to the event Packard Bell most likely will do a loan service again for overseas gamers.
However i cannot confirm this atm, nor do i know how many and if any pc's will be available for this service.

I am new to this whole lan gaming thing so bear with me if any of this has already been asked.

The Packard PC's, would you have any idea what their specifications will be ? Or if you could give a guess at it, that would be great.

Jonesy, the pc's are quadcores with 8800's so more then enough for the games.
But this is a service for overseas gamers only.

Im a pc noob so dont know **** abt the actual specifications this year...but last year when i had one, i know it had a 8800 gfx and it was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! We also got to pick between 17" and 19" screenies. (bring ur own keyboard/mouse tho+ games :D)

Those specs beat my current pc =P so would be fine for me and it is strictly oversea's gamers ? There isn't a "Those who don't want to carry huge pc's" section ?

Jonesy: you could always use Turn up and play machines I believe?

you select it when you get your ticket and usually we have the latest pc's from Packard bell running there, I believe casual gamers can use them and there not reserved for any particular type of player? Not 100% though

The TUP is only for a small section of the tourney games but they are powered by the Packard Bell Ipower pc's as well. anyone can buy a TUP ticket as far as i know.

The Packard Bell Loan pc's are only for gamers that come from abroad as for them briing a pc on a plane isn't really an option.

We would love to but the problem is we dont know how many systems we have untill we are closer to the event.

I'm wondering the same, the location of i34 has changed, which means its even further to come from Holland by car. The traffic mess at London was terrible when we got there, despite traveling at night. This time I want to book a flight from Amsterdam to Birmingham, which obviously means I can't bring my PC along this time.

I'm flying in from Luxembourg so was just wondering what the price would look like if Packard Bell will support the overseas gamers at this event aswell.

What was the price @ i33?

This is excellent news, alot of our Clan members are Dutchies who have been agonising over how to get to the event so we can all meet up. I have let them know about this option.

Thanks

Our clan had 2 comps from Packardbell on i33..
Really good service and really good computers..
Would be wounderful if it could be possible to rent it on i34 too.

I now there was a rule for i33 that there was 10 comp and u could just get 2 for eatch clan.
And u could just rent the comp if u where coming outside UK, or i think it was something like that so peopel that will fly there can get the comps :)
