Interesting question.

It would be interesting to know if the camp site includes this (http://www.stoneleighparklodge.com/campsite/index.asp), as this seems purpose built for caravans and campers and you wouldn't need a genny then.

There are caravan facilities by the hookups will likely be an extra charge (to give you power, etc.). Am confirming this one with Stoneleigh, but at the very least you can just bring a caravan along instead of a tent, it just may be you need to park it in a separate area.

I will be bringing my motorhome as usual, tenting is not good for my metal pelvis.
Attention Ladies: My motorhome has three spare beds, warm dry towels, hot shower, a clean toilet, a very warm gas fire, excellent cooking facilities and a well stocked fridge so give me a call if you want to stay at I34 in luxury.
PS: must swallow and be willing to play naked rubbing games.

3rd April 2008, 00:21
Oh dear, i guess the free camping is now only applying to tents then even if people might not want to use the dedicated pitches with a caravan/campervan ?

They do however sound like they might be worth giving a try to @ £18/night.

Facilities
Include electric hook-up, water points, waste recycling, waste sumps, toilet and shower facilities, minimum 8m x 8m grass spaces, easy parking, easy access, farm shop, coarse fishing, maintenance support, electrical services and car / caravan wash facility.

I guess these same toilet and shower facilities are going to be shared with those not paying for pitches though from the rest of the event ?

markybabyz1300
3rd April 2008, 11:25
ouch, if it is £18 I wont be going then, I can stay at a proper campsite with full facilites in peaceful beautiful surroundings for a tenner a night, no way I`m paying 18 quid to stay in a noisy poxy car park.
Sorry ladies, you may have to wait till we are back in Newbury for my naked rubbing games (dont worry girls, your Marky love vouchers will still be valid)

EvilGav
3rd April 2008, 17:15
It's still only going to cost *max* £95 after early bird for weekend + EAS.

It will cost more *if* you want to take a caravan and use electricity or *if* you want to stay in the hostel or *if* you want to stay in the hotel etc etc.

The price for the LAN is still the same as Newbury, the price for the LAN + tent is still the same as Newbury - everything else are optional extras that weren't available before and it's up to you whether you take them.

chucky341

i understand wot u r sayin but see it from marky point of view

at newbury he went with his motor home as normal & did not pay a penny extra

now at i34 he has to pay an extra £72 that is a lot of money

the thing is with a motor home u dont need ne electrical services cuz everything run off his car battery

all he usin it for it just sleeping mainly

wot about people sleepin in there car do they have to pay £18 extra nite

K's post kind of points us in the direction of the Stonleigh Site (http://www.stoneleighparklodge.com/campsite/index.asp) which i linked to in my post at the beginning of the thread. I'd be surprised if the proper pitches are lower in price just because Multiplay are booking an event in. In fact it says on the site for the camping that these are booked direct with the lodge apart from two events in the calendar, so I'd think that pricing is a good bet. The electric hookup is optional (extra £3/night), but if these pitches 'must' be used by all caravans and motorhomes, then it does add considerable extra expense over a Newbury i series weekend and i can see it not looking so attractive for some.

Is there an official line on this yet as to :-

a) whether caravans/motorhomes must use the proper pitches. (I'm assuming K's answer after Wizzos kind of seals this one )
b) pricing if any different from what is stated on the SP Lodge site.

I did mention it to SquireMuldoon yesterday whilst on the phone and he knew nothing about these pitches, I'm assuming someone does ?

Don't suppose there's an official line on this yet and whether these pitches are a possibility or mandatory ?
Stoneleigh website says book through them apart from the two events mentioned on their site, someone rang up and Stoneleigh said ask Multiplay. Multiplay still not clarified anything.

I want to bring my caravan, but want to know :-

a) Can I ?
b) Will these pitches be available and if so will electric hookup option be available ?
c) Must i use these pitches if available and deemed too expensive ? (i.e. Could i put it elsewhere ?)
d) Price

I know this is not a priority for you guys and you must have lots on, but it would be good if we can get an official answer on this, and if pitches are available with the hookups too that they be added as a bookable service if we can't do it direct with Stoneleigh.

Just rung Stoneleigh Park lodge who's official campsite it is and i was told 'They booked everything out' and i have to book through Multiplay.

Just about to ring Multiplay.............

EDIT:-

Just rung Multiplay.
It seems the additional facilities are still being discussed as to what's going to be made available and some negotiation still has to be made if and where caravans/campers can be parked if not on the official pitches as they can't go in the standard campsite.

Booo, i guess that means i made little progress really and still have to wait to find out. :(

To be honest though, i don't think you should wait around to book a BYOC space if you've not done so yet. I have faith that something will be sorted whether or not people want to use the official pitches or not. I would like to state though if the official ones are opened up, I'd be happy to pay a fee for it. Failing that somewhere else to park our vehicles up.

i understand wot u sayin dav3y if u goin to bring a caravans then i uderstand why they will be a charge but as marky or ne one else goin to use his motor home @i34 which will not need any of the above ( which was said early in this topic ) that what i dont understand so why should they pay extra just for sleepin in the motor home when they WILL be people sleepin in there cars free of charge

I think you missed my point. If caravans and campers can be parked elsewhere not on the grass part of the campsite for no extra charge then this is the best option and i can't relly see how any charge could be justified for that if people are allowed to sleep in their cars. Even if it's a specific area they have to be parked it, it's not really going to be a big deal and in some cases may even be a bonus if the noise level from the campsite is too loud.

It would just be nice if ALL the additional facilities (including dedicated showers/electric hookup/waste disposal) were available for anyone that wants them as an option away from the main campsite for an additional fee. As nothing has been confirmed though as to this availability, some of the showering facilities for this dedicated campsite may already have been planned to be used for all attendees.

What everyone wants to know mainly is if they turn up in such a vehicle, is someone going to say you can't bring that thing in here or for them to be directed to another part of the site and told they have to pay extra for it once they're there.

R3G1m3nT4L

interesting thread this, I have two business LWB/SWB vans and had considered taking one of them and sleeping in the back in the car park, now I am thinking this might not be possible. I also would be interested in the outcombe of the camper issue as I had considered a motorhome and i series would be one of those sites i would want to stay at. As i-series grows they got to consider the extras.

I strongly reconmend that they don't put excessive charges on something they don't need to, if anything maybe make an announcement and special bookings for those bring large vehicles above a certain size.

Dav3y

Any further word on this?

We've got a couple of people coming down from scotland way on a small motor-home - as far as I know they're not expecting to be hit with a new charge (outside of hook-up costs) when they get to the site.

Its a pity that the regular camping space is away from the motor home pitches, but is there then the possibility of camping where the motor homes are?

Cheers,

Mute point now as I have just seen the event has sold out so I wont be going.
Thanks a bunch multiplay, thanks for answering all my questions and for the rapid response to my emails.
Yet another company gets bigger and more successful and thus no longer gives a **** about the customer.
Maybe I am being a little anal but £18 a night for four nights is too much money and all I needed to know was if I could park in the car park as normal, considering the small number of posts on this topic you were hardly inundated with queries regarding this so I have to assume its incompetence or corporate contempt.

Hello Markybabyz1300,

The question about caravans and camper homes has been asked here on the forums in more than one thread. So far we do not have a definitive answer to your question. It is still being finalised with Stoneleigh.

Despite what some of you may assume, we do not have daily phone calls with them. Matters such as these are discussed in formal meetings with them, which only happen once every few weeks.

When we have a definitive answer, we will let you all know. In the mean time we would ask for your continued patience in this matter.

markybabyz1300

Thanks for the reply, shame the info still isnt available, hopefully if the event is held there again we will have a definitive answer.
The only reason I pressed the point is because I have a titanium pelvis, femoral nerve damage and osteoporosis and would find it very painful to sleep in a tent and impossible to sleep in a car, also my motorhome allows more space to entertain the ladies.
Tip for other motorhome owners: wait by the ladies toilets and hit on the ones puking up, their breath might smell of beefburgers but you will deffo get a finger in.

Why didnt he just book and pay, all he'd lose out if MPUK couldnt cater for his needs, was £10.

I will re-emphasise this point made already from SM:

"Despite what some of you may assume, we do not have daily phone calls with them. Matters such as these are discussed in formal meetings with them, which only happen once every few weeks."

Hence why MPUK haven't given an answer thus far.

So tbh considering this and the other posts it would have been nice for you to have sorted this by now in some way or form, it isnt rocket science.

If you have booked the areas whats the problem?

if you havent booked them considering people came to i33 in caravans and enquired about it to be told (provisionally) yer no problerms, and have made a big enough point about it in these forums then it is poor service on your part.

And apart from all that most where lead to believe that camping was included in the price

It seems like a buck and pass situation to me

Well, the fact the LAN has now sold out may be a bonus. Get yourself on the waiting list which means you don't have to pay yet. By the time a seat becomes available for you to pay for, you may well have your answer.

Hopefully, the subject of this thread may make itself onto the agenda of the next meeting which might then give Multiplay a chance to answer all of our questions with a definitive answer.
