£35 a night for a room in a hostel what is it the most expensive hostal in the world, jesus could fly abroad and stay in Spain for a week for that price.

Just to clarify, the rooms you can book through the MPUK website are twin rooms and the £35 is for the whole room, so find a clan mate and split the cost between you :)

Lol sure the hotel will love having 2000 gamers around their guests will love it.
£35 a night for a hostel is a bit pricey, either its a hotel or its a hostel, if its a hostel then charge hostel prices!

OK, I think some issues need clearing up after the presentation, and I for one have a few questions that I would like a representative from Multiplay to answer please.
At the presentation the £35 a room rate was being compared to a travel lodge, when in actual fact it appears this is the rate for a Hostel room. Where as the Travel lodge is of course a hotel and not a hostel. Is this comparison not a bit misleading?
For starters, do these Hostel rooms have their own shower?
If not what is the guest to shower ratio?
Now with regards to the hotel;
Is the Hotel fully booked for the period of this event by Multiplay and being made available for punters, or is it fully booked by external sources (or multiplay) and not being made availalbe for punters?
If it is the latter, why was it advertised as an accommodation option when as far as Multiplay are concerned it's fully booked?
If it is the former, how much is it per night for a room? Do you have to book the whole duration of the event or can you book rooms ad hoc?
Is there still the equivalent to the red room, or is the only indoor sleeping available hotel (depending on answer to earlier question) or hostel?
Please don't feel that I'm trying to piss on anyone's parade here or having a pop, I think the new venue looks excellent and I'd be very grateful if these questions could be answered as I'm a bit confused at the present time, see you there!

Hotel rooms are about £140 a pop for a twin including the night for EAS (so I've heard ;) )
Hmm, your source of information must be different from mine. I heard it was £65/night for the hotel. Your £140 would buy you just over two nights :p

Hotel is £85 a night for a single room £70 for a twin according to what i can find on the net. This includes breakfast and looks to be a very nice hotel. Im sure ive played golf near here at some point.
The presentation stated the hostel would be £35 per room per night based on a twin room. Id guess this won't include breakfast and will be subject to the usual hostel rules of shared facilities etc.

I think the cost of the hotel is academic as the fact that it's not being offered via the booking system yet suggests to me that they're holding the rooms back for the staff to get first refusal. I doubt there'll be many (if any) left by the time they get generally released.

Apart from the Hotel / Hostel issues, what I am really curious about is...
What is Secure carparking? how much will that cost? how does it work?
The secure (covered) carpark looked nothing more than a big barn from the video. How is it secured? will we have to pay to park?. It's great an all saying "secure covered carparking" but without any information it makes it difficult to work out exactly what this is. Is it secure with barriers & ticket machines? is it secure with cameras?
I'm already starting to have doubts about this lan party it is already starting to sound expensive. To attend and stay in the hostel will cost £150 each (or £219 alone). What controls will there be on the hostel facilities (assuming they are shared) only being available for the hostel guests?. Last thing I'd expect is to pay for a room, then still be kept awake by non-hostel attendee's running amok inside.

If you watch the video it actually says that is free and secure parking.
And in August you can easily camp without a problem

£340.... lol @ that.
That's £85 per night. I could stay in a nearby hotel for £29 per night and have £36 spare, every night, for a taxi.
Any chance of them actually being reasonable, with their prices, considering we're booking the majority of the site?

seems there is quite a few questions that need answering.
Firstly i would just like to ask, with the double hostel rooms, will there be a shower per room?
Secondly, do you have to book the room for the whole event, or can you book it for X ammount of days?
Finally, what is involved in the hostel? is it a room with a secure door and a shower? (I've never stayed in a hostel before so i have no idea)
Thanks a lot

This makes as much sense as mugging woodland animals for profit.
In other news, as much as I'd like a bed those prices are ridiculous. Plus, it's the summer, so I'll use the opportunity of it being warm outside (and the fact I'll still be in Glastonbury mode) and camp. :awesome:

Sorry andyf we are sorting this out as quick as possible, as Craig has stated there has been a bit of confusion re the Hotel rooms. If you wish to change to a Hotel room when this is sorted please drop us a ticket into support http://support.multiplay.co.uk
I'm pleased to see my concerns have been addressed with a swift and accurate response
Sorry Pingman these are forms and while we try our best to keep up and read them there's enevitably some that get missed. If you have specific query you can always raise a ticket @ http://support.multiplay.co.uk which will always be answered.
Now to answer some of your question as best I know ATM:-
Personally I dont think its misleading as you saw in the video its a nice room, yes its shared showers etc but that's always the case with Hostels.
We have booked all the Hotel spaces as well, but as Craig has stated previously, there is some confusion about the pricing of this ATM so we have removed this option until this can be cleared up.
There is no equivalent of the red room at this event I'm afraid.
Hope that helps, any more questions dont hesitate to ask.

I totally recommend sleeping at i-events - I was kept awake in my tent by the INSANE WIND on the Thursday night at i33 and hardly got any sleep at all, and felt shocking the next day. Go to bed at about 1:30am and get up at 10am, you'll feel much better for it. The bar is shut by this point anyway so staying up has little benefit ;)

That's harsh :(
I was bricking it because it was a new tent and I'd not put it up before, I had no idea how strong it'd be and I didn't remember putting all the guy ropes in properly. I think I eventually fell asleep, then got woken up by the rain at about 8am and decided to brave it outside to check for damage. Everything was miraculously still together, so I gave the guy ropes a thorough hammering into the ground and then didn't worry about it for the rest of the weekend.
I did see someone's tent go flying past us and into the chain link fence though, which I laughed at. I did go and retrieve it though, and anchored it into the ground so someone could come and get it if they needed it.

The wind was well harsh at I33 but with a 3 second tent it wasn't too much of a problem.
