i went away for a few days and it appears that playing red now takes 15 seconds to respawn on the two servers i tried (02 & 08).
how come not instant anymore? i know there was a steam update a while ago, but i thought you'd overcome the problem.

hmmm, a little reading on the steam forums seems to indicate another update and threat of delisting servers or something :(
cock :( i like instant spawn, i hate spawn timers. i'm sure it'll change at some point, but i don't enjoy dustbowl the way valve "intented it" and don't think i'll be playing much more.
i don't understand how on one hand people can say the maps were designed with balance in mind so shouldn't be tinkered with when on the other they're happy to have ammo halved (soldiers and demo's) when surely the ammo packs etc were also desgined in maps with balance in mind for the original soldier and demo.

When a server crashes or has to be restarted generally speaking it reset the mp_wavetime (respawn time) to 10 which is default.
We change this to 5 which is what it has always been when #2 restarts or crashes. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time :P
