only thing to look out for with 680i is that it doesnt support the new 45nm CPUs

680/780 will be the last 775 socket worth buying with the new 1336 socket (1 more pin would have been win tbh) at the end of this year with nehalem on the way :cooler:

680i does support 45nm but only the dual cores with a bios update.

I have an Asus Striker extreme Mobo for sale that is based on the 680i Chipset. I just upgraded recently to the Asus Striker II because I wanted support for the QX9650. Its within your budget aswell (open to offers) I doubt you would find one new in your budget?
