how much do you torrent roughly per day?
As virgin download restriction blows (like 750meg in 2 hours and then you get throttled for x amount) (this is what davefail gets anyway)

go with virgin(Cable!)... no download caps (only the speed limit during the day if you dl 750mb/3gb on the 4mb/20mit services respectively)
Service has been fantastic since ths start. Cant really fault it.

Virgin gives you a cap of 3gb between iirc 4pm and 9pm, unlimited outwith these times.
Im on VM 20mb, just upgraded recently and am going to stay with the service. No MAJOR faults with VM yet except one of the techies messing up my DNS which was sorted within 15 mins (which is why I was upgraded from 4>20mb free of charge (well at my current rate of something like £19/month) so I cant complain.
2 years with VM, im a pretty decent 'downloader' and havnt been affected by the caps yet. Good service all round and when there was the one incident of 'bad' service they sorted it in seconds and upgraded me free.

o.k update, i;v just called virgin up and gone with them with good reasion, it turns out that ntl (before they came virgin) owes my mum £50, nice of them to tell her that so with mums blessing i'm having that on my account, told them that both my sisters have virgin and got another £30 off because they recomened me ;)
btw, £31 for phone line (not going to use) and 20 mb BB

Aye, virgin FTW. If you can get 20mb cable, you should. End of discussion.
