If i've lost my disks (think they're around somewhere) can i download full version of WoW+BC free (and legally)? or do i have to buy new copies (not much of a problem if i do, just prefer to not have to go to the shops or wait days for delivery)

I had a burning crusade account subscription for several months

Blizzard downloader is actually surpisingly good for a p2p.

And their downloads from the site are not all that large.

I've had it wh0re my upload and i couldn't find any way of limiting it other than an external program like netlimiter or QoS on my firewall. So it could be better :)

Yeah my main problem with it is that it saturates the upload and kills the adsl connection for all other apps. But it is just a bittorrent client, so if you look in the world of warcraft\cache folder you can find torrent files and download them in azureas or whatever instead. You lose the http part but usually there are enough seeds that that doesn't matter.

just copy a friends wow folder onto your pc and thats it.. maybe using an external hard drive..? pop around to a friends house, copy his wow folder to the external drive.. go back to your house and copy the folder back onto your pc. Done.

If you have a friend that lives nearby will take you all of 30 minutes from start to finish.

However has to be said.. Eve Online would be quicker to download than wow, :)

Hehe, like it Zhardoum. My immediate thought was.

can i download full version of WoW+BC

Yes, but why would you want to when you could have this (https://secure.eve-online.com/ft/?aid=103543&bid=1).

For downloading the whole game, just disable the p2p part of it (in the options somewhere), and it'll go full speed on the http servers. It usually tries to prioritize the p2p parts, and only use http server as a last resort, so if you disable p2p you tend to get good speeds. This isn't a good idea on patch days though, as it goes really slow.
