Wonder if this means he wont ruin the next batman film by playing the joker.

Enjoyed 'Brothers Grimm' though.

I thought he was pretty cool in Knight's Tale. Was a while back.

Not seen Brokeback Mountain but the missus says he was amazing in it.

Shame to hear of anyone dying so young, but you gotta wonder what goes through their minds. Some people would give anything to be a young, rich, successful movie star.

It is Mary Kate Olsen's apartment, apparently.

RocketKnight
23rd January 2008, 00:20
MSNBC debunked that rumour. Someone contacted Mary Kate's spokesperson at the Sundance Film Festival, it isn't hers.

Obviously they arn't gonna admit that its her apartment when they just found a dead guy in it! :)

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Tuesday, possibly of a drug overdose, New York City police said.

Elkeeed
23rd January 2008, 01:59
Yes well done, except he was renting the apartment so that statement is incorrect whether it was actually owned by Mary Kate Olsen or not.

completely dumbass statement for three reasons:

1) he's just died, how can he possibly be in anything from now on;
2) he looked totally awesome as the joker. if you think he didnt, your a moron;
3) seeing as the film isnt out yet, you can't have seen it therefore your passing judgement on a film you havent seen.

The man's just died, and died young, and your only comment is that you "wonder" if he will "ruin" the next film in a franchise.

Sorry, but dumbass statements like that are pointless and irritating

I'm really shocked by the news, its such a shame. I thought he was a really good guy, he is one one of my most favouritest films ever (10 things i hate about you) and its tragic cos he is so young. He also has a 2yr old daughter, which is just awful...

Rest In Peace Heath!

He just died surrounded by pills, was a heroin addict and left behind a young daughter.
I'm sure alot of people would rather reserve their respect for people that deserve it.

yeah he was surrounded by pills, prescription pills and its not clear yet if it was suicide or a accident.

I never heard he was a heroin addict got a link to back it up?

TheDon wtf?

Where does it say he was a heroin addict? BBC makes no reference to it, nor MSNBC, nor Foxnews which are known for gross exaggerations. Only that there were prescription pills (sleeping?) nearby; a likely overdose but with suicide not being ruled out.

Wait until they have done the autopsy and then you can get on your high horse..

I have no sympathy for any spoilt, rich actor who commits suicide leaving a family behind. Many people would kill for his life and he just throws it all away. Dont get me wrong i enjoyed many of his films but im not going to feign empathy because he was a good actor.

eXceSSum
23rd January 2008, 15:38
Where has it said that he commit suicide? There wasn't a suicide note and the drugs he took were sleeping pills which you can overdose on very easily.

Give the guy a bit of respect ffs

Say_Ten
23rd January 2008, 15:44
If you don't wish to give respect to someone who's famous and commits suicide, fine. However, at least wait for an actual verdict rather than spout foundless accusations!

KingsColours
23rd January 2008, 16:04
If he didnt commit suicide i'll apologise but nobody should abandon there family especially someone with a life as grande as his.

Like i said i enjoyed many of his films but i dont think he's right for the part, and nobody can beat jack nicholson. Tbh i dont like the direction of the new batman films anyway.

I thought that one with Christian Bale was way better than the early ones. They were just silly. I mean I know it's based on a comic book character but the first ones were pushing it imho.

not as bad as the tv series in their defence though. Anyone remember the VERY first batman film? *Shudder*

I'd say the first ones were decent, Batman Forever onwards was the joke stuff surely?

Christian Bale does the broody thing really well and brought some life back into the film for Adults.

RIP though Heath, I was looking forward to him as the joker and can honestly say i've enjoyed the films he's been in.

Just for the record, the lovely Heath died from an accidental overdose on perscription drugs.

The city medical examiner's spokeswoman said Ledger died "as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects" of the different drugs.

Please read the artircle and then eat your harsh, unthoughtful and WRONG words. Many thanks!

As agreed I will apologise, that said though cancer patients with leprosy take less medication so he shouldve been more carefull.

P.S The new batman film will still suck ;)

As shazz said, you don't get accidently perscribed that combination. If you were perscribed it you would be told in no uncertain terms that going even slightly over your perscribed dose would result in an accute case of death.

Do you know what those drugs are perscribed for? Most of them are anxeity reducing, and Valium is often used for opiate withdrawl (and there have been many sources that have said he was a heroin addict) especially in the holywood culture. It's widely perscribed by doctors on demand and MANY people abuse it.

Sorry but that cocktail of drugs actually backs up what I said perfectly, as does "Some of the prescription drugs were found near his body when it was discovered" if you want to believe that a guy on a cocktail of drugs like that took them all accidently without realising it was going to at the bare minimum do some severe damage to him, and more than likely kill him, then more power to you. Personally I'll stick with the far more believable theories. Accidental overdose is a classic damage limitation verdict that doesn't even bother to go into how he got perscribed a combination of drugs that he shouldn't have been perscribed.

KingsColours
6th February 2008, 18:34
Either way he killed himself, accidentaly or not.
