After reading this - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7178241.stm - im amazed at the approach that intel has taken. I mean comments like "They would go in even after we had signed contracts and try to persuade government officials to scrap their contract and sign a contract with them instead." are amazing. Surely they can't have been that shallow? I mean, i know they are a large corporation, but to take that approach over a charitable project...
Their response "The premise that we actually divorced over is that there is not one solution. No one company, no one solution has a monopoly on kids." for me highlights that they saw this as a market to win over, as opposed to being a charitable venture in which they could make a valuable contribution
It's stuff like that that gives corporations the reputations they have aquired over the years
