View Full Version : Banned?

Hi

I received a banned message after winning a round on Public DM #2 ( Popular Maps ) this evening. A few hours later connection attempts are still failing with a 'Rejected By Server' message. I can connect to other multiplay.co.uk servers ok ( e.g. Public DM #4 ( Deck 16 Only ) ).

I don't cheat so am wondering what happened. IP is same as this post.

Thanks

Batty

Hello Python, I banned you.

You were causing some doubt in other players' minds, leading by such a clear margin on an almost full server despite the fact that there were some very highly skilled DMers there at the time.

I specced you and also found what I saw quite worrying so had no choice but to ban you.

You immediately appeared on DM5 as 'Snake' with a new IP and a new skin - not the action of an innocent in my experience.

What was that? Just interested, because on a crowded server you only have to be a little bit better than the other players to veritably romp ahead in the rankings.

speccing someone and doing behindview 0 will show an aimbot quite clearly.
I would totally trust Battys experienced eye Addy :)

Oh totally, I've done it myself a few times. I wasn't questioning Batty's experince, was just curious.

I was just 'in the zone'. Usually finish mid-table when the masters are on, but was inspired that evening.

I thought one of the players might have been an admin and banned me reflexively, out of spite. IP change in an attempt to rejoin the *original* server. Name/skin change not to draw the attention of said player. Found that could still connect to other Multiplay servers so continued playing with the above settings there.

I'm arguing my case cos ping nicely to Multiplay servers, like their admin policy ( no spam etc. ) and am gutted to be accused of anything.

:(:

Believe me they wouldn't be an admin for too long if they did that sort of thing just because you were beating them.

Sorry - but that explanation doesn't fill me with confidence at all as it would also seem likely to be an attempt to avoid detection by someone who had banned you quite legitimately too.

Batty is one of our longest serving admins whom I've had the pleasure of working alongside for 3 or 4 years. Batty has correctly identified many cheaters before and I have every faith in Batty's decision.

Ok Batty, since your stance is clear I guess there is no sense in me labouring the point without proof.

Thanks for the response.
