Bored at work so figured i would enquire.

I asked alittle about this last night in #mpuk but the chat doesnt really allow you to go into much detail. After some camping in lowsec I was bad last night and managed to pod my first player! :yeear:

After the excitement had died down of doing something new in EvE i discovered the massive sec rating hit the podding gave me making my status a grand -2.10. The problem now is that my HQ is in New Caldari (1.0 sys) which i now cannot get back to.

Basically whats the easiest way to get back in the good books? I never really did missions so what few agents i know are mostly you guessed it, around 1.0 or give me missions that sends me through 1.0. And i tried ratting in the 0.4 Belts nearby and i got a massive 0.01 increase or something equally insignificant. Do you recommend i try ratting in 0.0 for better gains or find a lv1 agent in 0.6 and start grinding for the next week or so?

might be easier to get social and connections upto level 3 which I think takes around 24 hours. This should unlock lvl 2 and maybe lvl 3 missions which would give a much bigger jump.

You would have to do a good 2 days worth of level 1 missions to unlock a lvl 2 agent otherwise and you'd probably only gain 0.3 in them 2 days.

Aaah ok i hadnt thought about the social skills idea. I kinda feared the mission grinding would by the answer but being able to bypass the horribly easy lv1s might make the experience less painful.

I knew i was having too much fun in an MMORPG for it to be real, i guess this is downside.

Don't pod people in lowsec unless you intentionally want to destroy your sec status. Ratting/missioning will raise it, but verrrry slowly.

Ratting:

Your sec status will go up every 15 minutes if you are ratting in one system, the gain is dependant on the highest value target you killed.

This moves on to ratting in multiple systems, you'll gain sec status every 15 minutes for each system you killed something in, taking the highest value target you killed in each one. Skip between 3-4 0.0 systems killing a large BS all in 15mins and you'll get 3x-4x the gain that you would just ratting in 1 system.

See i like the sound of the ratting option, its more in keeping with my pewpew approach to EvE however the comment "skip between 3-4 0.0 systems..." made me think thats not such a good idea. Id rather not be shipless away from my HQ where my other ships are!

Yeah you need to find a group of systems where you're blue to the locals, that way you should be able to avoid a lot of gatecamps.
