Hola UT fans
I'm sure someone knows the easy answer but here goes (I have searched online with no real solution found).
UT runs a little fast then slows down (skips) on my new rig. Quad core processor, HIS 2900XT DDR4 1GB mem vid card.
Any ideas?

think this must be an Ati related prob cause I have a quad and don't experience any quirks with it.
are you running opengl or d3d piley?
in opengl text I have this line:
FrameRateLimit=150
basically limits the fps to a max of 150 - stops it running too fast

UT3 or UT99?
if its UT99 you might wanna check your affinity for the UT process (limit it to one core)

is the quad intel or amd?
intel shouldn't have the prob - amd I couldn't say for sure

Piley use the D3Denderer or get a NvidiaGeoForce8500GT that working fine

This is usally power management and or vsync. Wnsure vsync is enabled and all power management in the bios is disabled. N.B. If ut99 remember vsync is back to front for d3d.

whats this about bios power managment affecting the screen tear thing, Ive got it on my lg 22" WTQ and a 8800 gts 320.
any ideas since on everything moving fast at a certain point on the screen creates a massive tear even with vsync forced everywhere.

Nothing to do about screen tearing its to do with the game running too quick. Basically it benchmarks the machine on startup but with PS on this gets the wrong result and everything runs too quick.

Ok folks, disabling Vync and some power mgt option in the BIOS appears to have it working.
Although the mouse just doesnt feel comfortable, even though its the same setting as my old comp. Will play around more with it.

always thought that mouse movement within UT felt 'off' using D3D personally.
that is why I make such a big effort to get the OpenGL settings right.
