Just to let you know if you haven't noticed the in-game email all you new people that are happily sat in pspr.

The alliance is currently in a war with some pvp corp who are pretty well organised and fast to gank.

Not fast enough to catch my newb ass though :p

But anyhow, it shouldn't affect you if your happily doing your missions or whatever outside of Amarr area and a few low secs below.

However if you do happen to spot a red marked person I advice simply docking and waiting it out. As your 3-4 day old char most likely wont do a lot against their 2 year old chars.

Yeah if youre 15+ jumps away you shouldnt be too affected, but still keep an eye on local. If you jump in to a new system and theres a war target on the gate they'll probably attack you, if they do attack DO NOT ATTACK BACK, simply fly back to the gate and warp back through, they cannot follow you for 30 secs at least.

Theres nothing stopping you from joining in, in fact you are actively encouraged as you are provided with free frigates and fittings at the very least. Time to learn what pvp can be like.

the point is dont go around on your own, theres a lot of people not too far away who you can join up with and get some kills under your belt.

Erm, no. You lot were talking about the war the other day, and THEN we were suddenly part of the alliance last night.

While i realise it may not affect most of us in empire unless we go to the fight ( as the major players in the opposing corp have very bad Concord ratings) It might have been nice to have some heads up before dropping us in the deep end.

While I might be flying a battle ship, i`m pretty sure its not decked out for PvP as I currently dont have much interest in that. But all the time this war is on, i need to fly around watching my back the whole time despite the fact im in a 0.8 system.

I know the old skoolers will probably bring up the old addage of "dont fly what you cant afford to lose" but you can still mitigate the whole "getting pwned at random" by not venturing out into low sec space. With the war dec, they can attack anywhere.

War seems to be going on in Shuria, and the surrounding systems. Please check your alliance mail on how to access the alliance website ingame, and check out how to set your overview to flash up the bad guys if they jump in.

Oh and learn to appreciate fear ingame :)

Most of the war opposition can't get into highsec anyway, so it should be almost entirely irrelevant for almost all of us.

Please be aware, that if the enemy knows your character name, they can find what system you are in using locator agents.

Nowhere is safe during war if the enemy has good intel.

Yeah sorry for lack of updates on this guys, it seems with impeccable timing the badguys declared war mere hours after I put the join application in. Just be careful, you should be ok outside of Amarr space, the vast majority of the enemy are unable to enter highsec anyway it seems.

Watch out for people marked with a red star (like the blue alliance star and green corp star, but red) in local and on your overview. NOT the red minus sign! You can shoot red star wartargets without concord killing you, but its probably safer to just run the hell away.

Update on the war if you've not noticed we have been getting a royal spanking.

However last night DAED finally started to fight back a little and took down a few of their ships.

There is also a planned alliance attack, please check your eve-mail for date and time.

Ok noob question, if I see a player with a fat red square on him (like the green star symbols for players in your corp, but red) does that mean I can attack them anywhere (even in 1.0 sec sitting right next to a station) and I won't get pwned by concord?

Well I saw a guy like that this morning while in my un-fitted vexor and i ran like a scared little girl.

I checked his show info and he was -10 to daed.

If you are remotely thinking of fighting you need to join the alliance fleet which is usuaully running. Just ask in the fleet channel, rifter tacklers etc are always needed.

And yes you can attack and pod them anywhere if its a war target.

There is also now a war channel which has pvp mercs that have been hired in to help which you should also join if you plan to pew pew.

It's all in your alliance eve mails people ;)

Incidentally, if no-one has the hint yet, I'm like the muscular but slow US Marine doing his basic training... I'm young, keen, expendable, have a gun, and JUST NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO, at which point I become a very loyal and efficient underling.

There will be an announcement in the alliance channel tonight (or maybe EvE mail because we might have a spy) so watch out for the announcement and go from there. Frigates with some drones and tackling kit on with lots of ammo. Tonight will probably be low sec or 0.0 because of our mercs.

Yeh, i was flying a caracal with "some shields".... lost it all in about 4 vollies. Before i had a chance to realise wtf was going on i was dead.

Half the problem was because i was in a cruiser and most everyone else was in a bs, when we gang warped, i warped in first. That meant I was gonna end up primary (altho not for very long it seems) wherever we ended up.

Then your FC is doing it wrong. You should all be aligned before a gangwarp, meaning you warp in at the same time.

Its not the biggest worry when in friendly space for aligning, it was more rigourous when going through the not-so-friendly space.

Do I remember correctly, or was some kind of POS warfare method labelled as an exploit a little while back? Or rather, "if you do this, you will be banned" ? I have no clue what it was off hand, just remember reading it somewhere and thinking it was odd that it got introduced so late in.
