The Return of Saturday Night Allegiance at StratLAN!

That's right! Allegiance mass-gaming is returning this StratLAN, complete with some sort of "this is how you do it" presentation before in the bar, and old-skool playground pickage :)

Bring Joysticks or joypads, I for one will be experimenting with using a 360 joypad :)

We're aiming for starting this at 9pm or 10pm on Saturday night with a Wizzo versus Doc commander match, and potentially a Joe versus Afty game on the Sunday night.

Newbies see http://www.allegacademy.org/cadet/cadet1/prereadingcadet1.shtml for some training pre-LAN, but don't worry, newbie tutorials will be going on.

The game is free so there's no excuse for not playing :D

takes the average player somewhere between 3 and 6 months to firmly grasp the basics.

The more I read this site, the more I think Allegiance is just like Tachyon The Fringe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachyon:_The_Fringe) but with a commander bossing players around. Not entirely sure if that is my cuppa tea, I'd rather be playing some fun games of Alien Swarm, Flatout 2 or something else. Still IF each game only lasts an hour or so, what the hell, might as well give it a go :D

Allegiance for newbies consists of:
Get in a scout run around everywhere..get killed
Get in a fighter, get in a dog fight and spend the entire time in a hard turn, get killed
Get in a bomber on the guns - shoot the crap out of everything with some really cool turret noises and LOVE IT!!! yell "Have it" alot at various people
Get in something bigger and go nuts with bigger guns - optional
Get in a fighter and shoot the other team whilst trying to shoot down your bombers - optional

Realise Afty has a 50/0 kill ratio and everyone on both sides is screaming for someone to kill him - mandatory.

Good fun though :)
